Located on one of the prettiest residential streets in the historic district, South Mount Vernon is just 5 blocks from the downtown square, quaint shops, restaurants, and attractions of historic downtown Prescott. You can enjoy walking past the gracious historic homes on the lovely tree-lined street to get there!
Cedar Cottage, Aspen Cottage (VRBO #679470) and Birch Cottage (VRBO #679469) are on the same property and share the beautiful grassy back yard and flower lined patio. They work great for individual renting and could also be rented together for a family reunion, or friends all attending one of the many events Prescott has to offer.
The Cedar cottage sleeps 2-6 people. Originally built in 1923, this cottage has been remodeled to include a sun porch, cathedral ceilings and many windows creating an abundance of natural light. The great room has a comfortable décor, sparkling clean new vinyl plank flooring, satellite flat-screen Direct TV, queen sofa bed, fully outfitted kitchen, dining table and bar stools with an overall feeling that is open and airy.
The master bedroom has a queen bed, beautiful linens, night tables with reading lamps, ceiling fan, Direct TV, large closet and dresser. It also has an outside door to a little porch. The secondary bedroom has a queen size bed with beautiful linens, ceiling fan, night stands, reading lights, dresser, and a door that exits to the shared, fenced grassy yard. It does have one step down to the unit and 3 separate steps inside, it is non-smoking, pet friendly.
We LOVE dogs. Please feel free to bring 1 or 2 dogs with you (pet fee is applied). If your pups are socialized, we invite them to romp in the shared fenced yard with the dogs of other guests. In addition to the shared fenced yard, your dogs will love taking you just 2 blocks to Acker Park. Acker Park is 80 acres of natural parkland within the City of Prescott. Your 4-legged family members will particularly enjoy the one-mile loop trail.
Being 5 blocks away from historic Courthouse Square, our location allows you to take sidewalks to all of the sites and sounds of downtown Prescott, Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. However, once home, you’re back to small town peace and quiet. For outside peace and quiet, a 5-minute drive due south will put you in the Prescott National Forest complete with hiking, canoeing, fishing, fabulous vistas and cool pines!
Prescott has an average of 275 days of sunshine per year and four mild seasons. The year-round activities have made it one of the top destinations in the Southwest. Prescott has been recognized as Arizona’s ‘official’ Christmas City so in December there are lots of fun things to do. You can be a part of the many people who stroll around the square to listen to the free, live, local music featured in every downtown shop for Acker night. A music festival like no other! In addition, you won't want to miss the spectacular tree lighting on the Courthouse Square and our Electric Light Parade. There are dozens of antique shops, boutiques, stunning art galleries, and restaurants. Enjoy the nightlife of Whiskey Row, as well as 3 live performance centers: The fully restored Elk's Opera House (c1915), the Prescott Center for the Arts, and Yavapai College Performing Arts Center.
There are also many golf courses in the area, including the breath-taking Hassayampa Golf Club; a Tom Wieskopf signature course.
