Hoku Lani is a fun and sophisticated home base for your North Shore Kauai experience. Whether you are coming to Kauai to golf, surf, snorkel, the beaches, Hawaiiana, or just relaxing, you'll not find a better place at this price. Perfect for two, Hoku Lani, is located close to the entrance of Princeville giving you easy access to Hanalei and the rest of the North Shore beaches. Hoku Lani, Heavenly Star in Hawaiian, is a second story one bedroom unit. Standard occupancy is 2.
Decorated in a cool blend of Polynesia, celestial, and retro, Hoku Lani is sparkling clean, has great attention to detail and many thoughtful amenities. The kitchen has everything you need to make fabulous food from our local fish, meat and vegetables. A new queen bed waits to cradle you after a hard day at the beach. The house has just been newly renovated with all new kitchen appliances, a new bathroom and flooring. A sweet lanai enables you to enjoy the trade wind breezes and catch a peek of the blue ocean.

The living room couch becomes a full size bed if you have a child. (Listed rate is for the standard occupancy of 2, but home can accommodate up to 3. Extra guest fee beyond two is $50/night + tax per person. This fee is collected after booking. There is a limit of one extra guest.)

There is a washer and dryer off the downstairs foyer for your use. Hoku Lani is located in the Mauna Kai Condominiums which means you have beautiful tropical landscaping & one of the biggest pools on the North Shore for your use. There is a pavilion at the pool with a BBQ, dining and lounging area, ping pong table and bathrooms. The pool is solar heated. Hoku Lani is just a short walk to the pool.

The owner, Tony, has provided boogie boards, water noodles and snorkeling gear. Stores, restaurants and spa are within walking distance. At the end of Wyllie Road is a trail down to Anini Beach to get to the beach on foot, and you are only 10 minutes away from Hanalei Bay. You are in the center of the North Shore's many beaches to the East and West of you. Princeville features many walking trails, great views, restaurants, shops, golf and tennis. Even if you don't golf, you can take a sunset view tour of the most gorgeous settings on golf carts complete with a bar and goodies. Hoku Lani is a great place to relax at night too. There is a 70 inch smart TV for your Netflix or others apps. Just cast them from your phone. There is one last amenity that no one else has. If you love to star gaze, you can make an appointment with Tony to see through his telescope which is taller than him, called a light bucket, out at the pool at night! Well appointed and comfortable
We were very satisfied and delighted with our accommodations at Tony and Judith’s condo. The layout of the space was excellent. Tony has anticipated the needs of his guests extremely well. And he is readily available if you have questions. We prepared at least two meals a day in the kitchen and found it to be well stocked with cooking utensils. As with all rental units, if possible, do bring your own chef knife. Tony offered to show us the night sky with his powerful telescopes but the weather did not cooperate. We hope to return one day for a second visit.

Honeymoon in Princeville
We had an amazing stay! We spent the first 4 nights of our honeymoon in Princeville before heading to the south side of the island. This rental was spotless clean and so cozy. They have every beach amenity you could need (chairs, umbrella, snorkel sets, bougie boards..). The owner lives in the unit downstairs and even took us one evening to see the comet in the night sky! We were able to drive very easily to all of the nearby beaches. Hanalei was a very safe beach for swimming which we loved. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful Stay
We recently stayed at this property and it was a fantastic experience! The attention to detail in the upkeep of the property was evident throughout my stay. The location of the property was great. It’s situated close to all the essential spots—restaurants, shops, and attractions—making it convenient for exploring the area. Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or easy access to local highlights, this place offers the perfect balance. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were available to answer questions. The only A/C in the unit is in the bedroom. It got warm in the living area in the afternoon and evening, but there are plenty of fans, and the bedroom gets nice and cold, so it wasn't a problem for us. Overall, I highly recommend this rental property to anyone looking for a top-notch experience. It combines cleanliness, a prime location, and exceptional service for a stay that’s truly worth five stars!

Tony's home was the perfect retreat to come back to after full days of exploring the island. The space was well stocked with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to beach towels and sunblock. Tony was a warm, friendly, and wonderful host.

Anniversary getaway
My husband and I vacationed in Kauai for the 3rd time in 6 years. We got married in Poipu in 2018 and fell in love with the island. This trip was our 2nd time staying on the North shore and it did not disappoint. Hoku Lani was perfect for us. The location and property were wonderful. There are so many beaches within a short drive of the property. There is a beautiful golf course within walking distance. There is also shopping with a grocery store, post office and restaurants within a mile. We walked there a couple times during our stay. We highly recommend Hideaway Pizza, Happy Talk lounge at Hanaoei Bay Resort and 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay. The Sugarcane Blaze cocktai at 1 Hotel Hanalei is a Must try. If you love Mexican food, try Pacos Tacos in Kapaa…muy delicioso. I had the chicken taco salad and my husband had the carnitas burrito. Both were excellent! There are so many places I could recommend but I’d run out of room to write :) The hosts, Tony and Judith were very hospitable and friendly. The condo provided all the amenities to enjoy while at the beach or pool. The pool is very close and water temperature perfect. We spent every morning relaxing on the balcony while drinking our coffee. Overall, Great condo, location and entire stay. Aloha

Short but Sweet!
I jumped over from Kona, but wanted to extend my trip a few more days. The host was very pleasant extremely gracious in all his offerings! I was not there much, I was out enjoying Kaua’i as much as possible. But the place was excellent for my trip, I did not cook but they have a wonderful place to do so, and a cozy comfortable place to chill as well. The bed & pillows were like a soft cloud, perfect for me. They have a place to spray your feet before entering, which was nice & everything you truly would need. I didn’t go to the pool, but it did look like a great place to hang out as well. Never seen lots of people there, only a few. The parking was never an issue for me, I always found a spot to park. I would definitely recommend this place, excellent decor and a lovely vibe to end my trip!!! Thanks Tony and best wishes!!! Mahalo ps. Just put in Mauna Kai Condominiums, and it will direct you from the airport to their parking lot Princeville.

Simply Amazing!
We met our hosts upon arrival to the rental, they were inviting and absolutely wonderful! The property is exactly as advertised and is stocked with essentials and other little touches that put this host/property above and beyond others! The condo is very clean and comfortable, after long days of exploring the island, it was nice to come back to a place that felt like home. I highly recommend this location and specifically this rental to anyone who is looking for a place to stay. If the stars align, we will definitely be rebooking in the future!

Easy Breezy Beautiful
The drive to our accommodations was easy and absolutely beautiful. While the condo area was well laid out, it was a little confusing in the dark, but there is a lighted map of the area by the mailboxes, so that was very helpful. Our hosts heard us outside and met us at the door, and we’re just delightful. Once we were in our rental, it was very clean, exactly like the photos and just lovely. Everything we expected and more. You can’t really go very far without a beach or an area of interest for a good photo op. Being on the northeast side, rain was plentiful but blew over quick during the day, and in the morning you can see amazing waterfalls on the way to Hanalai. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and our hosts gave us a very memorable time. It was our 3rd island, but it just might be our favorite!

We really enjoyed our time here! The owner and his wife are incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. The condo is well equipped with everything you need! We bought groceries at Safeway and made use of the BBQ by the pool. No one else was using it when we were there late January, early February. The decor is beautiful and the bed is comfortable. Definitely recommend! Mahalo ❤️

Best condo ever!!!
Wow, this place is awesome! It is clean, roomy, well located, well cared for and just a jewel. That would be plenty to rate 5 star but then they kicked it up many notches. The owners who live downstairs are spectacular people. They are kind and caring and they are there to serve. You won’t go wrong renting this unit!!!

Magical-Not Enough Superlatives
We stayed in 4 different places on 3 islands over 16 nights. Although we only stayed 3 nights here, we could have spent our entire time here. The area and Tony’s place were perfect. The condo was perfect; exceptionally clean, well maintained, and all things you might need were provided. The pictures do not do it justice. Tony was a fabulous host; very friendly, hospitable, and ready to provide suggestions and guidance on things to see and do around the area. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Kauai, we will DEFINITELY stay at Tony’s. (We hope this review doesn’t cause his condo to be too busy for our next stay.)

Located in the Mauna Kai community in Princeville, this is a great place to stay if you're looking to mainly relax in north Kauai. We stayed here in mid October and it was very comfortable keeping the windows open and using the ceiling fans available throughout the unit. For those that tend to run hot, a window AC unit is available for the bedroom, but we didn't need it. Keep in mind that hearing the nature noises such as rainfall or roosters is part of the charm of keeping the windows open in a place like this. Since it is thriving condo community, there can be some noise from surrounding neighbors, but we weren't bothered by it. The main living area is very spacious and nicely updated. The hosts, Tony and Judith, live right downstairs and are absolutely wonderful. They even gave us a vase of flowers and a card for our honeymoon. Even though property management is involved in the booking process, Tony made everything feel like it was a traditional b&b during our stay. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Wonderful condo close to everything
This condo is exactly as the pictures show it to be. It was perfect for our brief stay in Princeville. The host lives below the unit and we were fortunate enough to meet him and his lovely wife. I would recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a stay in or near Princeville and would definitely stay here again!

Very Enjoyable stay at Mauna Kai
We had a very relaxing stay at this condo. The owner, Tony, who lives below this unit, met us at the entry and even helped with the luggage! Mauna kai was quiet overall,( there are chickens everywhere in Kauai, so every place I've stayed over the past twelve years you can hear them at one time or another). But they were not bothersome. The pool is large, heated, and well maintained; and/ we had no problems with parking. The condos are well situated in Princeville, actually walking distance to the local Foodland and shops. If you love the north shore, you'll love Mauna Kai's location for its proximity to the beaches at this end of the island. We were there nine days: the condo is well stocked with beach gear, a well-stocked kitchen and bath, informational pamphlets and books about Kauai, and even some recreational reading material. Tony also provided a welcome basket full of snacks and was a friendly and knowledgeable neighbor who we came to consider a friend. Thanks Tony and Judith!

Week in Princeville
We stayed for 6 nights at this amazing condo in Princeville. It was well stocked, very clean and the location is key - a quick drive to everything on the North Shore. It really felt like a home away from home. Tony was very friendly and even lent us an extra backpack for one of our hikes. Highly recommend this property and definitely will be back!
