Rocky Point's Best Beach!

This apartment is on the second floor with only stair access. It is located behind the main house and is steps (about 50) to the beach. The main house is beachfront. We do not rent the beach house and encourage our guests to use the beachfront patio of the main house (pictured).

The apartment sleeps four in two comfortable queen size beds. There is one bedroom and the other bed is in the main room behind a pony wall - perfect for kids. There is one bathroom with a shower. Parking is on the street in front of the house. Our guard-gated community is safe.

Unlike the city, our water is delivered to us. There are two 500 gallon tanks of water available for the rental. Any usage above two tanks during a 2 night/three-day period will be the financial responsibility of the renter to refill. If you are staying for 6 nights, the second refill is part of the rental agreement, but a third refill is the responsibility of the renter. All water tank refills are on a cash payment basis.

Travel for 10 miles by car to Puerto Penasco for nightlife and the fish and curio market. Several excellent restaurants are located there. That's how far away this beach community is from the hustle and bustle of the town of Puerto Penasco.

Once you've relaxed, consider helping out Barb's Dog Rescue https://www.barbsdogrescue.org/ and adopting a new fur baby or giving one of their dogs a ride to their forever homes or adoption partners in phoenix. Barb's is 8 miles outside of Rocky Point on the main road and currently has 350 dogs in need of their forever homes and donations.

A nice place in Playa Encanto.
The wife and I enjoy staying at this place. Far enough away from everything but close enough if you need something. A few things : We had to use a couple of towels from those bags marked for Miguel Sanchez. Needed a dish towel and one to dry hands. The carbon monoxide plug in alarm was beeping upon arrival. I think the batteries might be bad in the smoke alarm as well. Just wanted to let you guys know. Just little stuff. Definitely will be back. Thank you.

Great Stay and unbearable price
The property itself was right on the beach, which was amazing. We went over spring break and truly there was almost no one on the beach. A couple tips I could mention: as you entering on the main drag, you will turn at on atuna and then you are directly in front of the property. The property itself was clean, and just as you expected with all the kitchen items you needed to make your meals. There is an excellent Taco stand at the entrance and she is there from 8:30-4pm daily. I would highly recommend the piña colada. It is quite an ordeal for her to get the blender going, but so good! Loved her stay for such an amazing price, we will definitely be back!

Great time for Thanksgiving 2023.
Stayed here many times. Enjoy the location and the proximity to the beach. Wife had messaged the owner about being short some bath towels and they were brought over. Thank you for that. Just wanted to bring a small detail to your attention. There was some dog hair on the floor by the one bed. We are completely fine with it because we have a dog as well. Just wanted to pass it along in case you need to address it. Definitely will be back. Thanks! 😄

Dirty and run down
When we arrived we were surprised at how dirty the place was. The refrigerator was filthy, all counters in the kitchen and bathroom needed cleaning, and there was literally up to 1/4" of sand on every window sill. The curtains in the bedroom were torn and stained and the top sheet on the bed was obviously one size too small because it barely covered the mattress. Within about an hour we had no water and that lasted for 20+ hours until they could get the water pump fixed (the host refunded 70% of the first night cost but also told us that everyone has cockroaches). The first 24 hours in the space we killed 5 large cockroaches. We actually went into Rocky Point and bought spray cleaner to clean the counters and fridge. I have pictures to back up all of these issues. The beach is very nice and there are very few people on it. The host encourages using the upstairs balcony on the house in front, but the spiral staircase is in such bad shape that pieces of concrete are falling off so we did not go up there. We did use the ground level front porch which provides some nice shade. In summary: the beach is good but this space needs serious cleaning and updating.

Fantastic clean quiet beach, nice little casa
Very pretty little upstairs apartment. Pretty much has what you need. We didn't bother with the TV or wifi, so can't speak to that. It's not five star hotel clean, but I'm a clean freak and I felt totally comfortable. The beach is just unbeatable for solitude and nature. LOVED IT!! Thank you!!

Week at the beach
We had a great (but too short) vacation in Playa Encanto. This property has great beach access to the best beach in Rocky Point. The place has colorful tile in the kitchen and bathroom and all the amenities we needed for a week at the beach.

Overall Good
The property is pretty much as advertised. Had everything we needed. Steps from the beach. Needs some TLC but good for the price. The property manager was prompt in responding to a minor water leak that resolved itself. The biggest thing is that it needs screens for the windows and door to keep out flies.

We had a terrible experience here and I would not recommend. First, it is roach-infested. We found them everywhere, even floating in our pup's water bowl in the morning. I wish I could upload photos with this review. The apartment sits on top of a vacant garage, and I'm guessing that's where they come from. Coincidentally, if you look at aerial photo you'll see that this stretch of beach sits in front of a marsh. There are tons of mosquitos (so bring bug spray). Second, the toilet didn't flush, which ultimately led to no water in the place at all. I told the owner Michaela about the toilet when we got there -- who to her credit was always very responsive -- and she had someone come out the next day to repair it. They showed up a few hours after they were supposed to, and their "repair" made the toilet run constantly. Because the property has a fixed water source, we woke up the next day to having NO water in the place - it apparently all leaked out via the running toilet. We were therefore forced to leave with no showers or anything else that required water. Finally, there are two A/C units in the apartment, and one of them (the main one) didn't work. As such, it blew hot air and never got below 92 degrees F in the main area (living room, kitchen, bathroom, and open bed area). The heat combined with the humidity rendered the area unbearable. It was too hot to cook, eat, or even hang out. Thus, we were relegated to spending all of our time in the small bedroom with the door closed. The same guys who came to fix the toilet also looked at the A/C unit and confirmed that the condenser was bad and could not be repaired (at least, not while we were there). While the owner was very nice and always responsive, her response to all of this was "Sorry, our usual property manager went out of town so we have to depend on back-ups." Which, of course, is no consolation to the people paying good money to stay there.

Beautiful property and location
We love to spend time in Rocky point and this property was a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and being right next to the water. The only thing I didn’t expect was that there wasn’t potable/drinkable water available in the unit and the listing did not say to bring your own water. They provided enough water for the first evening but then we had to go into town to buy water. We were planning to not go into town while staying at the property. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Playa Encanto was every beach lovers paradise!
My husband and I were able to stay a month down here with our fur babies. Michaela was beyond accommodating and responded so quickly with any questions we had. Everyday you wake up to the most beautiful views and new treasures to find on the beach! The name playa encanto is a perfect fit! You won't want to vacation in any other beach town once you have been here! The rental was great, and filled with everything you need, plus a cleaner came every week for us (Lupita is wonderful)! We couldn't ask for a better spot, better neighbors and memories we will have a lifetime! We can't wait to come back again!

A great getaway weekend to remember
Overall it was a great 3 days weekend that we really enjoyed! Location - situated about 25 minutes away from Rocky Point in a private-guarded neighborhood. The house itself is on the beachfront although the actual unit is at the back of it. It is possible to see the ocean from the windows but it is not 'on the beach' per se. In terms of what is there to do - there isn't much, there are no grocery shops, no restaurants, no activities, etc. meaning that for everything you need to drive to the 'big city' - a 20-25 min drive each way. Part of the road isn't paved, it isn't terrible but take into account that it is dusty and would rattle your car pretty well. The state of the property's was average, there were some minor issues that I alerted the home owners to - and I am pretty sure that they will take those into consideration and fix them. The ACs work well, water is warm, the kitchen is well equipped and the HiFi works great. The beach is clean, the sand is great and even the water temperature was enjoyable. We were a party of 4 - 2 adults and 2 teenagers and we found the place to be very pleasing and the area to be really relaxing. If you are looking for a getaway on the beach - this is highly recommended. The owner was also very responsive too.

Perfect location
Our first time in the PP area so we had no idea what to expect. Our main objectives for this rental were location and affordability, and it got a perfect score for those! You can't beat walking right out onto the beach. No hauling a bunch of stuff for an all day outing or looking for parking. It was totally safe and I didn't worry about my ten year old running to the beach on her own. Minor issues--the gate to the beach is collapsing a bit so was hard to navigate, and the fridge could have been cleaner when we arrived--nothing serious. The weather was perfect so we didn't need the AC so I can't comment on that. I've been spoiled on the last few house rentals I've had, so there were a few kitchen items that were missing (or I couldn't find) that I only mention so others can be prepared. 1. Only 2 cooking pots--very small and quite large and neither had a fitting lid (making rice hard to make) 2. The only knives were steak knives--no chopping or paring knives 3. I couldn't find any dish towels for drying dishes. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the almost private beach and the wonderful access.
