If you are not a VIP member this resort is not accommodating what so ever. From the moment you walk onto the property is very well made aware that you are a walking ATM - they do not give you your room number when you check in. All anyone ever wants to do when they get off a plane is bring their luggage to their room and get settled in. This was delayed by 2 hours upon arrival because the front desk makes you sit down with a salesperson that tries to sell you on a plethora of things including a VIP member package. They make you feel as though you chose a bottom of the barrel vacation. Then after politely declining with a crying baby in hand, they still don’t give you your room number and have another salesperson walk you to your room and try again on selling / linger in your room waiting for a tip. (This was not the luggage attendant it was a separate sales person) The food was horrible compared to other resorts we’ve been to (only VIP members get good food apparently) The children’s pool and water slide area does not open until 10:00am everyday and they have someone watching to make sure that no one goes in it while it’s “closed” The non-vip suites do not have elevators and we were on the 3rd floor trucking children and strollers up and down the stairs everyday. There were bugs in our room. The ceiling fan light in the bedrooms would turn on by themselves 3-4 times a night and wake everyone up. They told us they were aware and most rooms on the property did that.

Overall, it was a great experience. Wonderful food, outstanding service, beautiful beach, the premises and the room kept very clean. Lots of activities including exercise classes and beach volleyball. Many options for pools depending on your preference varying from the party pool to the quiet, adults only pool. The hotel is under renovation and the dining options are limited. As such, we had to line up for at least an hour early every morning to secure a reservation. Nonetheless, the only major complaint was that the first room they put us in was basically a hole. It was tiny and in a very loud spot where we could not get any sleep because of the blaring music from evening entertainment. There was also a spiral staircase leading up to it and no elevator. We moved to a much nicer room fit the rest of the week but we would not have enjoyed spending our vacation in the first room we were put in. Our first thought when entering the room was “who did we offend to be punished like that?”

Our stay at Marival was good for the most part. However, dining options were limited due to renovations. The service was good in the restaurants and pool areas, but the service in the rooms needs to improve. We never got our refrigerator restocked after the first day, told the concierge, and still didn’t get anything. For the money we paid to stay at this resort, this should not be an issue.

the general buffet was the only place we could eat. i believe there was a remodel to an area that took out two restaurants therefore the remaining restaurants were booked by 8:AM.that was very frustrating although the buffet had pretty decent food. also where my room was located it was pretty close to where wedding party's were held & it was quite noisy before bed almost every night. what I did like was the beach the water was very warm & the sand was very soft no rocks or shells

Lots of construction so dining experiences were limited and hard to understand. You had to wait in line to get any reservations. I was 5th in line - only reservation was at the 1 restaurant open at 9 pm. Went back in 2 hours and got a time at 7 pm. Arrived one day late due to airplance. They gave away our rooms. Were given new rooms after long wait. Arrived but both rooms were occupied. Had to really get assertive for appropriate service. Not what expected. Noticed other visitors having the exact same issue. Will not go back.

Was not told by the hotel or Expedia that two out of the 7 restaurants were closed for renovation and a further two restaurants were only open to members (time share holders). So this limited us to the Buffett restaurant (lovely food) and the remaining two restaurants we had to queue from 7am in order to make a reservation. The 3 we were able to use in total were fantastic. Renovation work on the property did come with some noise up until 9pm and on 1 day due to cutting concrete it came with a lot of dust.

Everything in this resort was wonderful. Selection of food and restaurants was a bonus. Toiletries were lacking. The lack of shampoo/conditioner or soap was a bit disappointing. Overall it is a 4**** and was disappointed. Great place for families with children. Lots of activities for children.

This was our second time at this hotel. We got a suite this time and it was incredible! The room was perfect for our family. The hotel itself was beautiful as always. There are some renovations happening so our restaurants were a little limited but I'm sure things will be great when the renovations are complete. The entire staff are super friendly and helpful. The gym was amazing, it had everything you could want. We did our laundry here before leaving & the machines worked very well. Will definitely return for another visit!

Marival emotions was a perfect get away for our family! Very family friendly resort with a lot of options. Activities and options for most. Food was average, but great for what I’d expect when they’re feeding hundreds of people at once. Staff are very friendly. Resort is beautiful. Ocean front room is definitely worth it, except when you see a wedding being set up as it goes very loudly to 11pm, but we appreciated the sharp 11pm quiet. Kids pool area was amazing and the quieter pool options were great too. Kids buffet is a very nice touch (dinner only) and kids activities/shows (although 8:30pm was very late for us). Special restaurants had great food, service and options. Beach club was worth every extra penny to have amazing service, views and a different food options. Negatives were there was mega construction going on at the time with almost constant work often starting early and going late into the night (jack hammering and very loud working). With construction there was only one special restaurant operating and rotating types nightly.there also seemed to be a lot of day passes at the pool which made for weird experiences as these people often were careless about the rules or overall well-being of others/ the resort as they were just in and out. Overall, would stay here again and recommend to families.
