I stayed at the Courtyard in Quebec for three nights and was told there were no extra charges upon checkout. Later, I discovered a $170 charge on my credit card from the hotel restaurant, which turned out to be a mistake by another guest who gave the wrong room number.
After finding the charge, I called the hotel around 5 PM to report the issue. The front desk agent said their supervisor would call me that evening. I waited until 9 PM with no response, so I called again. This time, another agent answered, and I had to explain the situation all over again. It was only then that they said they would investigate the restaurant receipts, as they seemed unaware of the issue until that moment. This lack of communication and professionalism from the staff is very disappointing.
While the hotel eventually promised a refund (which takes 10-15 days), this is a serious error. It raises concerns about the security of guests' credit card information. I warn future guests to carefully review their bills if staying here. Personally, I will not be staying at this location again. The hotel needs to implement stricter measures to prevent such mistakes and improve their staff's responsiveness.
