Our spot is perfect for people who want to take full advantage of the Bull City’s downtown & upscale night life experience: from restaurants to bakeries, stunning architecture, baseball, AND we're only 3 short blocks from the award winning performing arts center (DPAC).

You’ll sleep in a king size bed facing an alley view of the Art Deco "Hill Building" (21C Museum Hotel now) with everything you need at your fingertips in this charming and fully equipped studio. We are located in the newly re-opened (July ’23) Orenge Building and have been lovingly designed and furnished by expert Durhamites. Next door is the joyful “Velvet Hippo” (the coolest rooftop + most popular bar around) and below the flat is Orenge Durham, an elevated coworking|shared office concept that you’re welcome to access during your time with us.

The studio accommodates 2 guests luxuriously with all the charm you’d expect from a sweet Southern city. An eat-in kitchen welcomes you opposite a custom-built divider wall made from 100+ year old heart pine absorbed from another part of the building during renovations. A large TV, Nespresso, built-in cooktop, washer+ dryer combo, and convection oven|microwave round out the appliances accompanying a towel warmer in the self-care ready bathroom with garden tub.

We are nestled inside a fully operational mixed-use building and as such, every effort has been made to provide a space to rest from the bustle. However, please expect interactions in common spaces and reasonable sounds that are likely in any downtown district during the week. On weekends the Velvet Hippo stays open until 2 - we've double insulated the room and provided guests with ear plugs and a white noise machine. However, if you're an early bird or require absolute quiet to sleep, this is probably not be the best listing for you. If you're looking for a great time only steps away, there will be drag shows, Latin nights, bingo, and old school hip hop beats on Friday + Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons!

You may check in between 3pm and 9pm. Check out is before 11am. When possible, we will try to accommodate special requests outside of our normal operating times.

Your primary access to the building and the flat will be via an app so please make sure your phone is capable of handling such and consistently charged.
