Non aircons (wrong description)
The app mentioned the rooms had aircons when in reality that wasn’t the case. Hugely disappointing as the weather was very hot and the last thing you expect is having wrong description on an app such as this. Also the caps on the milk bottles were rusted which is a health hazard.

Unfortunately there was no cold water in bathroom sink and hot water scalding. Also no real shower , just strange v deep bath affair and a shower wand. V inconvenient. On the plus side there was a nespresso machine in the room which was useful. I felt the room was overpriced.

Attentive owner and good customer service.
Hotels.com notification stated check in from 2pm but it was from 4pm which ws a bit inconvenient. Had a few problems but they were sorted by the owner Simon to the satisfaction of all parties including improvements for next guests. Good breakfast and service in the restaurant. Cleaning team were excellent. We would stay again

Not open on the day booking had been accepted!!
How can you rate a hotel that takes, accepts and confirms a booking for a day it is closed and doesn’t notify you? We only found out after a gruelling 50 mile bike ride and had to find somewhere else at 8 o’clock at night at our own expense. Shockingly bad service.

Perfect weekend mini-break location
The staff here is lovely, the rooms are super comfy, and the food is amazing! Easy to get to from London and then walkable from the train station, so you don’t need to rent a car or book a taxi.

Expensive night in Goring
Booked this hotel on the basis that we expected £189 per night to offer exceptional levels of comfort and condition etc. This was possibly naive on my part. Cannot fault the guy from Cambridge who welcomed us when we arrived (quite late) - we ended up having a drink and long chat which was great. We did feedback when we checked out but the condition and size of the room wasn’t commensurate with the price we paid. Maybe we just got unlucky - but the room was quite small and the bathroom a bit pokey. Breakfast was ok the next day but nothing special. Staff were all lovely so no complaints there at all. We did drive away thinking why we’d just paid almost £200 to stay there though.

Miller of Mansfield - top notch
Really relaxing and comfortable stay despite some dreadful weather outside (and some good weather). From check-in to check-out we were very well cared for and the meals were excellent. Exceptional touches too to help us with our dog who also stayed with us

Had a good stay at the Miller of Mansfield. Some of the rooms have open bathrooms which is not everyone's Cup of tea, and it was perhaps a little tired around the edges in places. However the food was excellent and it was very comfortable with nice touches in the rooms such as REN products and Home Madrid cookies. A lovely area to visit too!

Goring is a picturesque village and The Millar of Mansfield a picturesque hotel. The welcome was very warm and friendly. The rooms are all different, we had the Mansfield Suite, which consisted of two rooms, a smaller room for our son and a large room for us, in addition to a large bathroom. The small room was simply furnished, clean and bright. The large room has a huge, beautiful and very comfortable bed, a sitting area with two chairs, a table & a chaise longue, a very attractive dressing table, chest of drawers & night stands. Chandeliers hang from the ceilings. There was tea and coffee making equipment, including a Nespresso machine and homemade cookies. The bathroom was huge! We all enjoyed bathing in the roll-top bath and the shower was excellent too. We are all very impressed and are looking forward to visiting again. If you have Problems with stairs, though, this isn’t for you. We ate in the hotel’s restaurant too. The food was excellent and they appear to be trying very hard for a Michelin star. A number of amuse bouche were delivered to our table along the theme of The Miller, which were a very pleasant surprise and delicious! We feel that the fare was reasonably priced and would recommend it.
