Summary:
A Prime location. One block from the beach & boardwalk. Steps from the walking bridge to downtown Asbury Park. Views of the ocean, Wesley Lake, The Stone Pony & Down Town Asbury. Adjacent to picturesque "Founders Park" with its flowing fountain. All amidst the charm and tranquility of peaceful, historic Ocean Grove. This fully renovated Victorian home offers three covered terraces to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. It's everything a vacation to the shore should be.

Emergent voice messages will be returned promptly by our staff.

The Space:
This Private, bright and comfortable, 3rd floor unit is nestled in the back, on the ocean side of the Melrose. The room offers a private ensuite bath.

Each suite at the Melrose features smart home technology. Smart TV's offer free access to Hulu Live or the ability to sign into your favorite streaming service. State of the art Wifi beacons provide 1000/1000 mbps internet connection through out the entire house and exterior porches. Smart locks ensure you'll always have access without having to tote around a set of keys! Guests also have complete control of the temperature within their suite.

Guest Access:
This is a 3rd floor unit that requires stairs for access. Guests will be provided with check-in instructions and a personal keycode 3 days prior to and the day of arrival. Upon check-in time, your keycode will activate. Simply enter the code into the keypad on the house front door and room door, and then press the button at the bottom of the keypad. You will need to complete this sequence before the backlight of the keypad times out.

***Please note, guests that did NOT book via Airbnb will need to complete our Rental Agreement prior to receiving their check-in instructions***

Due to our meticulous cleaning standards, early check-ins or late check-outs can only be accommodated based on our turnover schedule. With that in mind, we cannot provide approval for early check-in, in advance. If your room is ready prior to check-in, we will let you know.

The Neighborhood:
Looking for a fun night out? Asbury Park offers plenty of excitement. Prefer a quiet dinner for two? Ocean Grove is the ideal setting. Our location offers unparalleled access to everything that makes the Jersey Shore so special.

We recommend a walk (or run) down the boardwalk. Start in Asbury Park and head south towards Ocean Grove. Walk through Bradley Beach and Avon-By-The-Sea until you reach the Belmar Bridge as you enter Belmar. Every community and every beach offers a different flavor and there are an infinite amount of places to explore.

Getting Around:
We're in walking distance to everything. The beach, the boardwalk, live music venues, hundreds of restaurants, bars and shops are all only a few minutes away.

We're also approximately 1/2 mile to the train station with access to NYC or a 30 minute Uber ride to the NYC Ferry.

Other Things to Note:
Quiet hours are strictly enforced: 10PM - 8AM.

The Melrose
Very quaint place to stay! So close to the beach/boardwalk and a very short walk to Asbury Park. Many restaurants/bars and shops to choose from. Would definitely stay there again.

Great One night stay!
Loved the AC’d rooms with mini fridges as well as 2 beautiful porches where we enjoyed a quiet evening. Great location two blocks from beach and boardwalk near a dead end that abuts a park. Just wish we had reserved a room with a queen sized bed instead of a full sized bed.

The Melrose was clean and quiet for a two-night stay off season
It was strange to stay in a "hotel" with no front desk and no staff. To be honest, I much prefer a human presence. Yes, a certain amount of information was provided in written form, and there was a contact number to call if you had a question or issue, but I still would have preferred someone to be working in the building. I was given a room on the third floor which required going up many, many steep steps. I would have preferred a lower room and it didn't seem to me that the rooms on the first and second floors were all occupied (hard to tell) so I wonder why I was given the least convenient room in the entire building (third floor, all the way in the back). The room was clean but one of the blinds was broken and the air conditioner placement was as far from the bed as possible, making it hot for sleeping even when the A/C was running full blast. The bathroom was clean and functional though very small with no place to put anything. It needs a shelf or two. Towels were adequate, though the inclusion of a beach towel would have been nice. The coffee service was appreciated but there could be tea pods available as well. The building is well situated at the northern end of Ocean Grove only a couple blocks off the ocean and very close to Asbury. It was easy to park for free right in front and easy to get around by foot by while I was there. The porches were nice to hang out on.

Easy access to everything
We had a nice stay overall. The location was great, the property was quiet. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and on a slant so your feet were higher. Cpuld have used better pillows. But great spot otherwise.

We really enjoyed staying here. The location is excellent. We were really close to the beach and a short walk to town for shopping and food. The building is quiet, clean, and safe. The only reason for providing 4 stars instead of 5 is we didn’t have enough towels. After asking, we were told to leave our towels outside the door and they were never replaced.

Good location
Location was in a great spot. It was a little deceptive compared to the listing however it was a nice place. The coffee/couch area is not apart of the room, it’s a communal area. This isn’t a big deal however the listing makes it appear as part of the room. Our room did have a fridge that wasn’t listed so that was nice. Very clean and great communication.

Upon getting to our room we noticed there was large gaps under each door and there was minimal sound proofing. Our room had many marks and holes in the wall as well. Upon entering the bathroom there was a large amount of hair all over the shower area and the waste basket had stains all over the side of it (either vomit or toothpaste). We could also hear everyone's conversations throughout the building. If your looking for a one night stay by yourself this might be a good option, but I would not recommend this to couples or families.

This was a great room. Very clean, updated, and very convenient to the beach and shops. One thing I would have like is blackout curtains or shades. By sunrise, even with the shades closed, it was very bright.
