Frida's by the Sea Beach House

This 100 year old house offers a rustic & retro beach house experience. Kept simple, comfortable, it offers classic fun including jigsaws, games & yes a TV & DVD & wifi. It is only a 5 minute bush walk to stunning Blackhead Beach or 10 minutes through a sub-tropical rainforest to the shops. Once you've arrived there's no need to get in your car til you're ready to go home.

The space
This is a much loved beach house & a great place to unwind, get active & reconnect with yourself & your family. There are ocean baths, beach walking & exploring to do with a patrolled swimming beach (school holidays). We are dog friendly on request, unfortunately we don’t host cats. If you want to bring your dogs please let us know what breeds and how many and we'll confirm if that's ok. There is a one-off pet fee of $25. It's a dog friendly beach, however the fencing is only about 1.2 metres high so best for small dogs and the neighbours have dogs too, so one's that don't get too barky would be welcome.

Frida's is close to the beach and catches a great ocean breeze, there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living area, and we've recently added ducted air-conditioning.
There is good mobile coverage from Telstra & Optus, other providers are variable.

The bathroom has a shower over its clawfoot bath, it’s a little curvy on the bottom and maybe unstable for some, we have a great ensuite shower as well & an outdoor shower with hot and cold.

We are LGBTIQ friendly and this is the perfect honeymoon venue!

Frida's has a wrap around verandah on two sides, it's like a room outside and you can move with the sun or hide in the shade. On one side the veranda is about 1 metre in height without railings and that's why we've recommended not suitable for children under 3 years, you can use your own judgement.

Wonderful getaway
We had a wonderful peaceful 5-day nature getaway from the city at Frida's by the Sea Beach House: close to beautiful Red Head beach via nature walk, lovely modernised farmhouse-style cottage with the feeling of home + art decor, dog friendly for our little Jack Russell cross including fenced in yard and friendly cow neighbours, wonderful dark skies to see the Milky Way etc, close to Forster for excellent dog-friendly restaurants,..., and friendly responsive host Evelyn. Thank you so much!

Fabulous by the Sea
My wife and I, and our dog visited Frida's at the end of a 2 week road trip. What a way to finish! We stayed for two nights, but wished we stayed for longer. The house is beautifully decorated in varied and exciting pieces of art, and furnishings. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well appointed and the fireplace made for cozy watching of the TV and movies. Fabulous! We are already looking forward to the next time we visit.

Lovely old home.
Lovely old house, very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the flannelette sheets were cosy. The open fire and an abundance of fire wood was a bonus on the cold nights. Even though the ducted air conditioning worked well we really didn't need to use it. Good secure yard for our fur baby.

I recommend this stay as in good location not far from anything you may want. Our Host was exceptional, and we never wanted for a thing. Very pretty beaches and dog friendly as well and not overcrowded. Would stay again.

A Heavenly Stay with Saint Frida!
Gorgeous home that embraces you with comfort, relaxation and peace! My favourite is lounge surfing around the vast old Aussie Verandah as the sun moves across the sky reading, writing, drawing. Beach and bush walks, our Jack Russels feel at home. Evelyn and Kerry are kindness itself and incredibly helpful with tips on local fare!

This amazing house was a wonderful find, with its wrap around verandahs. So much thought had been given to every detail regarding both the indoor and outdoor furniture and to the many kitchen items. We had a fabulous 4 nights at “Fridas” with our new puppy an a few family members . Very comfortable eclectically decorated home with a well stocked pantry and functional kitchen . Beds very comfy with two full bathrooms. Yard was fully fenced to stop escaping puppy. Short 200 mtr walk to beach access Highly recommend! Chris W

We loved the cozy ‘old style’ atmosphere of this charming property. The wide veranda with a breeze to sit around reading or having a cuppa. Books and DVD library. Short walk to the (unpatrolled) section of the beach. We didn’t enjoy the smoke alarm that randomly and loudly went off on several nights in the wee small hours. Drove us crazy! Overall however, a pleasant break.

Lovely old house, great location to just chill and do the things we did as kids, like swim and fish , laze on the verandah or beach , read a book ,play a board game . We went off grid had no computers , no TV (our choice) just the radio and the sound of the numerous birds that visited the garden .

Such a lovely comfortable home, well equiped, everything you need. My grandchildren loved the house and my daughter was very impressed with the space. We all loved sitting on the verandah relaxing, walking to the beach, sleeping in the comfortable beds and playing games, plus doing a jigsaw. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Getaway
Charming personalised home. The laughter of children seemed to hang in the air when we first entered this gorgeous home. Our grandchildren loved the whole house and we had many special moments there. Personally, Fridas by the Sea ticked all the right boxes for a weekend getaway for us. Close to the beach, well stocked pantry with anything you could need, comfortable sofas inside and out to relax the days away, books and puzzles galore. Then there is the beautiful garden and quirky Frida inspired interiors. Dog friendly too!
