Air-Conditioned Villa with Private Pool and Gardens Solely for the use of Guests of Aisling Villa

Aisling villa is located in the village of Chamalevri, away from the bustle of the tourist areas but still within 15 mins travelling time if you wish to visit. Hamalevri boasts a local Kafeneon called Romeo and Juliet Meze Bar, serving a wide range of good food all day. There is a small shop in the next village Asteri (5 min walk)where you can get the essentials. Asteri also boasts a museum Taverna and a kafenion (greek pub). Outside living is part of the experience on Crete and we have a 9m x 4m private pool and sun bathing areas with a number of sun loungers and umbrellas. Beside the pool is a covered pergola with associated barbecue area which has an additional small gas cooker to meet all cooking requirements.
We have lemon trees growing in the garden and it is something else to pick a fresh lemon for your gin and tonic.

A spacious villa in a peaceful location
Set in a rural village location, this spacious villa was just right for us. The furnishings and equipment are not new but they all work and are not shabby. We felt at home and spent most of our two weeks in and around the villa. Richard, the owners agent, introduced himself and he was really helpful and friendly.. We would be happy to stay here again.

Aisling Villa was just as advertised, Carol was very helpful before arrival and Richard gave us a warm welcome. The villa is kept spotless as well as the pool and outside areas. We would recommend a stay here, it was difficult to drag ourselves away.

Our 9 days at Aisling Villa
We really enjoyed our time at Aisling Villa. The house is very comfortable and the private garden and pool are delightful. The "welcome" wine and food was very generous and much appreciated. Proximity to Romeo & Juliet Fusion was a real plus: we had several dinners there. The location in central Crete is convenient for exploring the entire island. We would certainly recommed Aisling Villa for others planning to holiday in Crete. In terms of minor improvements: 1. The dishwasher did not clean things especially well. Its dish trays are rusting, and one suspects its days are numbered. Washing dishes by hand is discouraged in the owner's notes, so guests must rely on the dishwasher. 2. Lack of hot water for morning showers was a disappointment - especially when we had 4 people in the villa. There is mention of a booster switch in the notes, but a little more explanation would be welcome, e.g. how long does the booster take to warm water for 4 showers? 3. We met Richard on the day we arrived, and he quickly replaced the non-functional toaster on our 2nd day. However, on our 8th day we tried to contact him (leaving both voice and text messages), but there was no response. We did eventually sort out the issues ourselves, but the lack of response over a 48 hour period was a bit disconcerting.

Lovely Aisling Villa
We have just returned from Hamelevri and had a lovely holiday at Aisling Villa. The property is completely private and the gardens and pool area are far nicer than the photographs show. It was quite difficult to find in the dark and we were really glad of Carols detailed directions as we couldn’t get a GPS signal when we landed. The welcome pack was really good far more than we expected. The Villa was comfortable and clean and well equipped, we found Richard was very helpful during our stay ( the pool guy).. It is a little tucked away so a car was a must for us, and we were able to visit a few places along the coast and even drove through the mountains to Spili and Plakia on the other coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we will be able to visit again. Thanks Carol

Late summer in Crete
Property was ideal for us as a couple. Possibly a little "cosy" if 4 adults were there all the time. Quite well equipped, although would benefit from some updating of the furniture in the main living room and some more cutlery to save on the dishwasher. It needs to be stated on the website that the entry to the lane is not suitable for a laden hire car as it is very uneven and we managed to "bottom" the car, on reading the info at the villa it advises that all passengers should get out of the car at the end of the lane - a bit late to read this after arrival! We also thought that some of the greenery around the villa would benefit from a good cutting back as it seemed to be harbouring a lot of biting insects and would also open up the view across the valley. Having said all this we had a lovely 2 weeks, the weather was amazing and we would definitely consider a return visit to this property.

Excellent place for lovely and quiet holiday
If you want to have a good and quiet time but not far away from lively Rethymno you have to go! Lovely house just a few minutes driving to the village. Very private with a big pool. Kitchen equipment for all the cooking needs. Great communication with the owner before and during the stay. We hope to get back next year. Thank you Carol 🌴

Relaxing, wonderful holiday!
Lovely clean and well equipped property. The owners had very kindly provided many provisions, bottles of water, milk, eggs, bread, feta cheese, a bottle of red wine and more, it was very much appreciated as we arrived very late at night! Information about the local shops and restaurants/bars was great and within walking distance. Highly recommend the local restaurants. The pool was cleaned regularly. A Lovely holiday!

Amazing property!
We’ve truly had an amazing stay at Aisling. The house was comfortable and spacious enough for our party of six. Really well equipped and all appliances in working order. Pool towels also provided which I have found lacking from previous properties. Wasn’t expecting air con in the bedrooms so an added bonus in the August heat! The different seating areas around the garden were stunning. Local bars were both great especially when you fancy leaving the car at home and having a drink with your meal! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. Thank you Carol and John.

Lovely villa, well-equipped and secluded
We had a great time. The villa was well-equipped with a lovely pool side and outside eating area. There are a couple of nice places to eat within walking distance. We wanted a car-free holiday and it worked very well. The local taxi company was very helpful on the occasion we wanted to venture elsewhere. Although there are other properties around, the villa feels very secluded and the perfect place for a restful holiday.

A lovely private family home , equipped with everything a family could want for a great holiday .
Aishling villa was peaceful, totally private and picturesque. Each room has individual air con units ( very helpful ) lots of books , games , information leaflets and folder about surrounding amenities. The pool is a perfect dept for anyone with children ( 4.5 ft at deep end ) Steve regularly checks and cleans pool and surroundings . The kitchen is well equipped and when we arrived all the necessary food stuffs were in place to start us off which was appreciated . The owners Carol and John were great to deal with . It’s far enough away from all the bustle of a big city but ten min by car takes you into all the action of Rethymno. One suggestion , if you have hired a car leave it parked on the road at the top of the drive because the driveway is very steep and can catch the underside of the car . You will need a car if your coming here but with so many places to visit it’s well worth it . The beaches on this side of the island are beautiful but I would say make sure you have swim footwear for the kiddies as they are mostly pebble beaches .Had a great holiday, we would thouraghly recommend this house and area of Crete . Thank you to our lovely hosts , your home is everything we could have wanted for a great family holiday . Best wishes the Purcell family x

The photos do not do justice to this lovely holiday home. Spacious and comfortable. Delightful garden and lovely pool. Peaceful surroundings with wonderful views from the village. Two great restaurants just a short walk away were an added bonus.

Everything was as promised
We have just returned from a lovely relaxing stay at Aisling villa in Chamalevri. The villa was clean, fresh and quite private. There was a welcome pack of food in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the table. Any equipment we used, washing machine, dishwasher etc was well maintained and there was plenty of washing powder/tablets available to use. The cupboards were well stocked with tea/coffee/sugar/olive oil and plenty more. The local taverna was a two minute walk away where Yanni and Matthew were very very friendly hosts. One thing I would stress is take note of Carol's warning about removing any passengers and heavy luggage before you turn into the lane to the villa, there is a big bump on the way in. I would not hesitate in recommending this villa for a relaxing holiday.

Lo vely villa. Good quality with air con and a wall mounted bug zapper! Great swimming pool
The villa has everything needed and is well laid out. Comfortable and relaxing. Owners provided a welcome pack. There is a choice of ceiling fans and/or Air con and has a built in bug zapper The swimming pool is lovely and clean (it was even cleaned half way through our one week stay! ) with a choice of seating and loungers for sun or shade. Just up the road is a great Mezze bar serving high quality and good value food and drink. Highly recommend this villa. Also recommend having a car with sat nav if you like to explore further afield or are travelling to the villa at night. (We had a late flight) Owners directions include pictures but of course it doesn't look the same in the dark!

This villa has everything, no really it does!
Pleasant little villa, georgous pool and grounds in a sleepy little village. Its not to far from everything but you do need a car. Carol the owner has the wonderful idea of letting people leave surplus things rather than having the cleaners throw away and as a result there isnt anything weird or wonderful that you cannot find in this villa. Keep this going for others guys! Wifi is now available for a small charge and is very fast. Local restaurants are a dream come true of friendly people and wonderful food. Butterfly's, lizards & birds and other flaura and fauna make the gardens wonderful to be in. 100% recommended

Lovely quiet villa with its own pool
In a quiet village but with a great meze bar up the road and a supermarket within walking distance but just a short drive to the sea. Had everything we wanted and the welcome pack was a really nice touch. Would definitely return!

Traumhaus auf Kreta
Wir waren mit zwei Erwachsenen und drei Kindern (3, 5, 7) für eine Woche in der Aisling Villa und haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus hat eine sehr gute Aufteilung mit 2 Schlafzimmern, 2 Bädern und einem großen Wohn-, Koch-, Essbereich. Vollfunktionsfähige Klimaanlagen in jedem Raum, gute Ausstattung und sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Garten ist traumhaft angelegt mit Palmen, Hibiskus, Kakteen, viiieel Oleander und natürlich dem großen und sehr gepflegten Pool (ca alle zwei Tage kam jemand früh um ihn zu pflegen). Haus und Garten bieten eine tolle Privatsphäre, bei Fragen oder Problemen ist immer jemand ansprechbar. Mit dem Auto ist man in wenigen Minuten am Strand und bei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Auch das nur 2 Gehminuten entfernte Romeo&Juliet Fusion Cuisine hat uns sehr gefallen und wir haben uns überall sehr willkommen gefühlt. Bei einem weiteren Kretaurlaub würden wir auf jeden Fall versuchen, wieder in der Aisling Villa unterzukommen. Vielen Dank!
