Spacious Modern Villa with Pool and Amazing View!

Villa Gaia Modern is a brand-new house built in 2018. The villa is suitable both forā€‹ families and groups of people who want to have unforgettableā€‹ vacations in Crete. It is situated in a quiet area in the village Skouloufia, 18km away from Rethymno. The villa is built in two floors layout. It has two yards, a barbecue area and a private parking. The house has four verandas overall, one of them in front of the pool, where the guests can relax and enjoy their food or drink along with the beautiful view to the sea and the town of Rethymno, but also to the countryside and the mountain Psiloritis. It is suitable for up to 8 people. There are four bedrooms, all with ā€‹view to the sea.ā€‹ Two of the bedrooms have doubleā€‹ beds and the other two have two twin beds each. All of the bedrooms have access to the verandas. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a spaciousā€‹ dining and living room with fireplace and a smart Sat-TV. The house has two bathrooms, one of them equipped with a jacuzziā€‹. Around the villa, there are many villages with tavernas, mini markets, gas stations and pharmacies nearby, as well as many historical sightseeings like the Arcadi Monastery and the archaeological site and the museum of the Ancient Eleytherna. Fantastic holiday villa
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Gaia. The villa was clean and spacious with fantastic outside space. It was in a quiet, rural location however was still convenient for local restaurants, supermarkets and the beach and there were many things to do within an hourā€™s drive (including the airport). Zacharias was a generous and kind host. He insisted on meeting us at the villa despite us not arriving until after midnight. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect trip
The property was stunning, plenty of room for everyone , spotlessly clean and a good location with fantastic views. The host was fantastic and his Mum even cooked us a home made meal on our first night which was both unexpected and greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Amazing Villa
This is a beautiful villa, very modern and perfect for a family holiday. The pool isnā€™t too deep and is the same depth throughout so perfect for children. The views from the villa are stunning and we would recommend staying in this villa. The owner is also lovely and very helpful if you need anything.

Lovely stay and exceptional hosts
We were a party of two families, four adults and four teenage children. The property is around 20 minutes from the coast and cars are a must but this was perfect for us as we prefer to stay in quieter areas. The pool is great and would be ideal for younger children too as it is not too deep and all one level. The villa is modern but traditionally furnished and well equipped. The beds are quite firm which was fine for most of us, but one has a bad back and found the bed too hard. However the hosts went above and beyond and sourced a mattress topper for us. Zacharias and his family are wonderful hosts, very welcoming and happy to help with any questions. On arrival they had prepared a delicious meal for us and a homemade cake . It was very special and we wouldnā€™t hesitate to return.

Fabulous Break
A beautiful late September week for 2 to recharge and our first post-Covid trip. Great weather and a very comfortable place to relax in. We mainly cooked for ourselves and the villa has most of what you need with supermarkets in Stavromenos 10 minutes back down the road. The wifi is fast enough that you won't notice any issues and Netflix and Amazon Prime are available on the Smart TV (you will need your own subscription though). Swimming pool was refreshing and the local cats very cute! The owner Zacharias was simply the best. An extremely tasty dinner was waiting for us on arrival and he dropped in with a couple of other treats during the week and was always available on the end of the phone to answer any queries. Thank you for all your help! If you need a rapid antigen test for return travel then numerous places are available in Rethymno and the process is simple at approx ā‚¬25 per person. It felt so good to sit with a glass of Cretan wine and watch the superb sunset from the upper balcony and remember the joys of travelling. Highly recommended location, villa and owner! Just book it!

Amazing vacation
We stayed at the villa for 6 days and cannot recommend it enough. Zacharias is a very friendly and pleasant person and an amazing host. We received a warm welcome, even though we arrived late at night. He had even written us a card, to congratulate us because we recently got married. He checked in with us several times while we were there. The villa is spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The view is just wonderful and the surroundings are peaceful. We spent a lot of time by the pool, just enjoying the sun and the villa. We will definitely be back.

WONDERFUL PROPERTY :) would return in a heartbeat.
We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful property. Incredible! From start to finish we could not have asked for better hosts or better accommodation. Our flights were delayed and the host waited for us at the property to welcome us. And welcomed us with the most delicious food that his mom had cooked for us! what a start to the holiday!! We were 2 families holidaying together , 3 adults and 5 children age (17,14,6,4,4) and the villa was just ideal for us. 4 perfect bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and dining room/kitchen/lounge, 2 big upstairs terraces (great views of the countryside down to the sea) and ample outdoors space with seating areas dotted around, some in sun and some in shade, to relax in, read a book, enjoy your coffee, etc. Little play area for the children outside to keep them occupied. The pool was clean and enjoyably cool for the hot weather. the location was great, in the countryside so that we had peace and quiet, only the sounds of the sheep passing by, and as we had cars, was easily accessible for us, in face great as we could get to the main road (chania to heraklion) easily for our day trips.went to different beaches every morning and then spent the afternoon at he pool and out for dinner in the evening. could not have asked for nicer accommodation for our holiday. I give a 5 star rating as thats what it deserves and I would recommend this property (and the hosts) to everyone!

Excellent Villa and Host in a peaceful location
We can honestly say that our stay in the Villa surpassed all expectations. We were two families with 7 adults and it was a perfect size. We arrived in the early hours after a delayed flight and Zacharias and his father were there to greet us with wonderful basket of local produce, a fridge stocked with drinks and a home-cooked meal. This attention to our needs continued throughout the holiday with various food packages arriving over our two week stay. The ice creams were delicious as were his mothers home-cooked pies. The location is peaceful and a car is essential as the nearest shop is about 10 mins away. The views were incredible with gorgeous sunsets every night. The villa is well equipped with very efficient air conditioning. There is plenty of space indoors and out for everyone to feel relaxed. The pool area has sunbeds, recliners, parasols so shade and comfort is great. In terms of things to do, we recommend the Paraschakis Olive Oil producers, who offer a short tour and tasting. The Arkadi Monastery is both beautiful and fascinating. Local beaches are good but snorkelling is better in the South. We like Damnoni Beach in particular. Rethymon Old Town is great (park at the Marina). We also visited Chania, Knossos (opens at 8am get there early if it's hot) and Heraklion, all within just over an hour's drive. All in all, this was a fantastic holiday. In our many stays at various villas we've never experienced such generous hospitality. You will definitely enjoy a stay at this Villa.

We've not used homeaway before so were a little apprehensive but Zacharias was super welcoming. His villa was amazing. Large, but not too large and an amazing pool. It was quiet and relaxing, about 20 mins from. Rythemno (btw - park on by the marina for a 10 min walk to the old town). Everything was perfect, kitchen fully equipped and multiple terraces to enjoy alfresco dining. We have to say that the hospitality was amazing - and we fully recommend coming to stay here!

Charming and peaceful villa with excellent host
We have just returned from an eleven night stay at the lovely Villa Gaia modern. Located in the quiet hills the Villa provides a peaceful sanctuary for relaxation where the only interruptions are the sound of crickets (or the laughter of my six year old twins as they play in the pool!). The villa itself is fairly isolated, making car hire essential. But the location has lovely views and provided a perfect base for exploring the island; it is not far from a range of archaeological and natural places of interest (Arkadi monestery, melidoni cave) and 10 minutes drive to a local supermarket. Only recently completed the Villa is modern with some traditional Greek touches. An immaculate outdoor space includes a good size pool and play area which is spacious and was perfect for our group of seven people. Facilities in the property were excellent with everything provided from a hairdryer and pool inflatables to a regular cleaning service (with fresh towels and bedding provided regularly during our stay). Our host , Zacharias was exceptional and genuinely cared that we had a great holiday. He provided a wonderful welcome basket full of basic groceries and Cretan delights (including homemade jam and wine) for our arrival and we were particularly thankful for the gifts of sour cherry compot and homemade pies during the stay. I highly recommend the villa and should we go back to Crete, we would definitely return to Villa Gaia modern.

Amazing villa, great holiday!!
We had a lovely 2 week stay at Villa Gaia Modern, itā€™s a fantastic villa which has just been finished (we were the first to stay there) and we couldnā€™t have asked for more from the villa itself and the owners who were great from the off and throughout our stay. They even brought around a homemade Greek lunch for us at the end of the first week, we had Moussaka with Greek salad and vanilla ice cream with a cherry compote, all homemade by the owner herself and using their own produce; was lovely, one of the best meals we had! The ownerā€™s were brilliant and were in contact prior to our holiday to check our arrival time and to meet us at the villa and show us around. They genuinely seemed to want to make sure that we had a great stay and told us that we could phone or text anytime if we needed anything. They had also kindly left us a welcome basket filled with homemade cake and jam, coffee, biscuits and alcohol, and the fridge was stocked with water, beer, juice, fruit, ham, cheese, bread and butter - all the essentials. The villa itself was also really well equipped with everyday necessities such as washing up liquid, tea towels, toilet roll, foil, bin bags etc, even laundry detergent and fabric softener. The villa itself is just up in to the hills a little away from the hustle and bustle and is very peaceful, this does make a car essential but we would recommend this anyway to explore the many beaches and historical sites on the island. The villa is decorated to a very high standard and has obviously been styled with great care, it really is lovely. It has air conditioning in every room and some great views out from the villa. Also for those that are more security conscious there are electric shutters on all the windows in the villa, so whilst a very quiet and safe area, it just adds that extra peace of mind. The pool area was lovely and was really child friendly, very clean and the surrounding pool area is beautiful, again finished to a very high standard, with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas, its also very private as youā€™re not overlooked by anyone. There were two inflatables left for us which our daughter was really impressed with. There was also a small area with a childā€™s table and chairs and various outdoor games, which was a nice touch. Also there are lovely flowers / grounds to the rest of the villa which are very well kept. All in all a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

Magnifique sƩjour hors saison !
Nous avons passĆ© une magnifique semaine chez Zacharias ; la maison Ć©tait formidable et idĆ©alement placĆ©e pour visiter les deux cotĆ©s de l'Ć®le. QuiĆ©tude totale dans sur le hauteurs de la CrĆØte, mais assez proche toute fois des plages et des commerces. Et que dire de notre hĆ“te qui nous aura accueilli avec un diner 100% prĆ©parĆ© maison, tout ce qu'il faut pour le 1er petit dĆ©jeuner, et nous aura mĆŖme offert un petit souvenir au moment du dĆ©part. Bref : une rĆ©ussite totale ; merci Zacharias.

Very relaxing stay in a quiet and beautiful place
We very much enjoyed the stay in this beautiful house. The house provides a lot of space and we enjoyed the pool a lot. The owner familiy provided us a very nice welcome with freshly cooked food and a filled fridge. This was very convenient, since we (2 adults + 2 kids) arrived late in the evening. Wunderschƶner Aufenthalt
Wir waren Anfang September 2024 in der Ferienunterkunft und es hat uns so gut gefallen. Alles war sauber, sehr schƶnes Haus in einer ruhigen Lage mit Blick aufs Meer und abends sieht man die wunderschƶnen SonnenuntergƤnge. Wir kamen erst spƤt abends dort an, aber selbst um 10 Uhr abends war der Gastgeber persƶnlich vor Ort, hat uns alles gezeigt und erklƤrt und hat uns sogar mit selbst gebackenen Abendessen seiner Mutter Ć¼berrascht. Auch fĆ¼r unseren Sohn gab es Spielsachen vor Ort und der Pool war fĆ¼r ihn - und uns - natĆ¼rlich ein Highlight. Der Gastgeber war immer freundlich und nett und man konnte Ihn jederzeit erreichen. Vielen Dank fĆ¼r die tolle Zeit vor Ort - gerne wieder :-)

Super Aufenthalt
Wir hatten zehn super Tage im Haus Gaia! Ein gerƤumiges Haus, schƶne, funktionelle Zimmer, die 2 BƤder sind etwas klein, aber fĆ¼r uns ausreichend. In der KĆ¼che ist alles vorhanden, auch SpĆ¼lmaschine und Waschmaschine, was fĆ¼r uns immer sehr wichtig ist. Saftpresse fĆ¼r frischen Orangensaft. Der Pool sehr sauber, regelmƤƟig gereinigt. Das GrundstĆ¼ck fast un einsehbar, mit einem herrlichen Fernblick und Meerblick, liegt nur knapp 15 Minuten vom Strand entfernt, Einkaufsmƶglichkeiten gibt es jede Menge in 15 Minuten Entfernung. Zwei tolle Tavernen in der jeweils 1 km Abstand, da kann man locker hin laufen in einem kleinen Abend Spaziergang. Man braucht natĆ¼rlich ein Auto, hat da einen super Ausgangspunkt fĆ¼r viele Unternehmungen, Schluchten, kleine buchten und StrƤnde und vieles mehr. Wir wĆ¼rden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die nƤchst grĆ¶ĆŸere Stadt, Rethymnon ist nur 20 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, auch wunderbar zum bummeln oder einkehren in ā€žOld Townā€œ. Der Gastgeber, Zacharias, ƤuƟerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir waren zu sechst in dem Haus, wir Eltern mit drei Tƶchtern 14,20 und 24, eine mit Freund.

Splendide ! Villa Gaia une valeure sƻre !
Maison idĆ©alement placĆ©e pour visiter l'ile. La maison de Zacharias est extrĆŖmement confortable avec un Ć©quipement complet pour toute la famille. On s y sent trĆØs bien. Tout y est et si vous avez besoin de quoi que ce soit vous pouvez compter sur Zacharias. Il est au petit soins pour vous. La maison est dĆ©corĆ©e avec grand soin, "comme dans les magazines" . Elle est trĆØs lumineuse en journĆ©e. Les lumiĆØres extĆ©rieures et intĆ©rieures illuminent la maison le soir. L'hygiene est impeccable. Maison adaptĆ©e pour personne Ć  mobilitĆ© rĆ©duite. mon papa est restĆ© au rez de chaussĆ©e dans la chambre du bas. Il a fait le tour exterieur de la maison car adaptĆ©e pour le fauteuil. La climatisation est dans toutes les piĆØces si besoin. Les piĆØces sont vastes. Plusieurs terrasses Ć  l Ć©tage permettent de se poser et d admirer le paysage mer et montagne. L'accueil de Zacharias est exemplaire. Gentillesse , douces attentions sont au rendez-vous. Sa maman nous a cuisinĆ© de bons plats pour notre arrivĆ©e. Bref,aucune hĆ©sitation vous faites le bon choix en rĆ©servant la villa gaia.

Wir wurden freundlich mit einem leckeren Abendessen empfangen. Das Haus war einfach perfekt! Sauber, modern eingerichtet, mit liebevollen kleinen Details. Jedes Zimmer lƤdt zum Verweilen ein. Der AuƟenbereich und der Pool waren herrlich. Jeden Abend konnten wir einen zauberhaften Sonnenuntergang genieƟen. Unsere Gastgeber waren freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt! incredible Villa with super friendly host
The villa is as advertised. Everything you need and more is available in the villa. The pool is nice and you have an incredible view of the sunset. One thing that impressed me the most was the hospitality of the host. The host's mother cooked a whole meal for us (7 people!) free of charge because we arrived late in the afternoon and she was afraid we wouldn't have anything to eat. I have never experienced anything like that at a holiday destination. For my birthday, Mr. Zacharias even bought some sweets. Again, super friendly! He didn't have to do that. I appreciated that very much. I can only recommend the villa and Mr Zacharias. Cheers Arne

Un paradis sur l'Ć®le ! Des hĆ“tes d'une gentillesse et d'une dĆ©licatesse exceptionnelles qui nous ont attendus et accueillis en pleine nuit avec le repas prĆ©parĆ© et des cadeaux de bienvenue de leur production personnelle. La maison est magnifique, Ć  l'image des photos, spacieuse, romantique oĆ¹ rien ne manque pour permettre de se sentir chez soi. La piscine est sans vis Ć  vis et trĆØs agrĆ©able. Les conseils de visite, de restaurant prodiguĆ©s par les propriĆ©taires Ć©galent leur gĆ©nĆ©rositĆ©. Un merveilleux sĆ©jour qui nous laisse des Ć©toiles plein les yeux.
