Villa Avouri Kalathos

Only a 5 minute drive from the historic village of Lindos, with its ancient Acropolis, three beaches and an abundance of tavernas, restaurants and bars, Villa Avouri enjoys a peaceful location with stunning views of the sea and surrounding bays. Accommodating up to 5 guests, the two bedroom villa benefits from its own good-sized swimming pool and spacious living accommodation. Perfect as a base from which to explore the island, or to simply relax next to the pool and enjoy the sunshine (the private garden is a great sun trap) Villa Avouri is ideal for couples, families or a group of friends.However due to the rocky terrain and marble and tiled flooring we recommend the property is best for children over the age of 10 years of age.
Providing a light and airy, open plan, living area with fully equipped kitchen, dining furniture, lounge seating with double sofa bed and downstairs shower room/WC, the patio doors overlook, and lead to, the swimming pool and patio area complete with a stone-built BBQ and a pergola bedecked with beautiful bougainvillea flowers to provide shade.
A marble staircase leads to the large, upstairs landing from which there is access to the two bedrooms and a double shower room with WC. Both the spacious master bedroom and the twin bedded second bedroom have their own balconies from which to admire the views with a morning coffee or a glass (or two) of wine to witness the sun going down in the evenings. Early birds will be enchanted by the sun rising over the sea in the mornings.
There is gated access to the villa, which is extremely private, and parking space for two cars. Air conditioning, in each room, is included in the prices quoted.
Location
The villa is located 1 km from the village of Kalathos in the south east of the island.:
Rhodes International airport is a 40-minute drive to the villa and Rhodes town is approximately 45 minutes away and both the old town, and the new, are well worth a visit.
The nearby village of Kalathos has basic amenities, with a typical Greek bakery selling fresh bread, delicious cakes and savoury pastries, a chemist and a couple of tavernas for drinks and snacks. Just outside the village is a supermarket selling fresh meat, groceries, vegetables and fruit.
A short drive from Kalathos will bring you to Lindos village which has a bank, post office and many bars, tavernas and roof top restaurants to choose from, not forgetting the souvenir shops and little clothing boutiques. The village is pedestrianized apart from the donkeys which provide a ‘taxi’ service up to the Acropolis.
Other information
Faliraki, which is a 30 minute drive from the villa, has one of Europe's largest water parks.
Most of the beaches in the area offer water sport activities and there is wind surfing along the west coast.
For sunbathing the beaches along the east coast vary from being pebbly, sandy or mixed. The nearest beach, in Kalathos (just 2 minutes’ drive) is a mix of pebbles and sand and Agathi Beach (10 minutes’ drive) has a beautiful sandy beach
Other nearby beaches are at Vlicha (3 minute drive) and Lindos (5 minute drive) Water sports are offered at most of the beaches and refreshments and toilet facilities are available.
