The Sierra del Agua covers the double site of Riopar and the waterfall of the Mundo River, in the area of Los Chorros, illuminates in its spring not only the source of the river, but also the origin of a new population in the eighteenth century. So what we know today as the old Riopar or Riopar the old, was the original population until that date, when the activity of the mines and factories began and the population moved to a nearby settlement that was then called San Juan de Alcaraz and that ended up imposing its identity adopting the name of the original people.
The Royal Factories of San Juan de Alcaraz, are the main attraction of Riopar that saw the population, the industrial activity, the illustration of its project and its people and even its demography with the arrival of immigrants coming from Austria, as the project promoter, Graubner. In its current location, Riopar offers a visit to the industrial buildings, some of them rehabilitated and to the Museum of the Brass Factories of San Juan de Alcaraz.
The old Riopar has two points of interest: the castle-fortress and the parish of the Holy Spirit. The castle stands on a rock that dominates the surroundings, as a strategy of surveillance and defense, is built in masonry and has lost part of its enclosures. The hermitage has as a curiosity a tower of defensive aspect and that apparently served as siege to the strength in 1475.
