Quiet, kid friendly neighborhood. A cantilever deck overlooks the river which is about 30 steps away. You can fish off of our private dock or tie your boat up to it. Bring your kayaks or canoes and put them in right in front of the house! Beautiful fire pit with seating for 6, overlooking the river and scenic mountains.
All bedrooms have a 24” smart TV and WiFi. You can log on to your own personal streaming accounts. The Livingroom has a 55" smart TV and cable.
The house is a 30 minute scenic drive along the historic Midland Trail to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve (the country’s newest national park) You’ll pass a couple of waterfalls along the way. Fayetteville, voted “coolest small town”, is right along the route to New River Gorge and has many locally owned restaurants and breweries. You can also rent bikes and ride or hike numerous trails in the area. There is whitewater rafting, repelling, ziplining, horseback riding and so much more that you can take advantage of, in the NRG area. In the fall, the changing trees are gorgeous and the New River Gorge Bridge is host to an annual Bridge Day event.
Charleston, the state’s capital, is about 40 minutes drive west. Plan a day and visit the gorgeous state capitol followed by a meal at one of many locally owned restaurants.
Summerville Lake is roughly 36 miles from the cottage and offers a nice beach and lots of water activities. You can rent a pontoon boat, kayak or paddle board and make a day of it!
In the winter, you can drive a little over an hour to Winterplace Ski Resort and ski or snow tube.
