About this property

Entire place

The 1944 Robb Cabin

Built in 1944 and fully restored, this character, comfy cabin is very unique and cozy. For the last 3 years I’ve worked tirelessly and with passion to bring modern amenities to this 350 square foot, 2-room 1 bath cabin while keeping all the nostalgia of 1944. I finished the main renovations and am now delighted to share it with you!

The 1944 Robb Cabin features fully restored, original shiplap walls and ceilings, with painted plywood highlights. All the amenities of a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher plus solid wood and stone countertops, make the space clean and ambient. Three slider windows face south for all-day sunlight and greenery and the colour palette co-exists with nature. A covered deck and other quaint areas around the yard are perfect for morning coffee, small-plate meals, BBQing, or just relaxing in the outdoors. The landscape, while surrounded by evergreen trees, has a fire pit set in a pad of the cabin’s original bricks, and sidewalks created from flat-stones collected from the property.

The cabin is unique because I bought it at 24 years old and spent 3 years working a full time job and renovating on weekends to help me afford to go back to University. This new and modern meets 1944 build makes for the perfect getaway for couples, hikers, fishers, hunters, and families to get out of the city and enjoy an old character cabin with the features and cleanliness of a new home.

The cabin is inside a hamlet and therefore does have neighbours on either side, however it still provides a real sense of being in nature from many trees and fresh air that you just don't get in the city. Robb is located in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains and you will not be disappointed with the stunning views!

Camera Disclosure:
I have one, actively recording camera that overlooks the front of the cabin, front of the trailer, fire pit, main yard and driveway which records video and audio. It has 24/7 playback and stores video footage locally. There is also a doorbell camera on the front door, inside the porch, which actively records video and audio during motion events. It does not have 24/7 playback, but saves motion events to the cloud. I respect your privacy, and only access the cameras to ensure check in goes smoothly, what time you check out, and after the fact if there were any issues.

The property itself was nice! I could tell a lot of thought and effort went into this place. However, I’d you do not have a truck or SUV, I would recommend going somewhere else. We went here so we could go to cadomin area where the Whitehorse wildland is. We tried two separate approaches and the logging/mining roads made it impossible to get there. Finally needed up driving on paved highways to go to Hinton for a hike. There really isn’t anything notable nearby if you don’t have a truck. Also, we were stuck waiting for over an hour due to roadwork and the mosquitoes were something else (not the hosts fault obviously).

Fun old cabin
Hard to see and find in the dark, but just the right feel I was looking for in an old "cabin". Shower small - just in case you're a big person. But functional!

Nice little getaway
This is a perfect location for a little getaway. We saw went and scouted hunting and fishing spots and enjoyed the beautiful forests around Robb. The cabin was clean and quaint. We loved it. I’m a bigger guy so the ultra soft bed hurt by back a bit but otherwise I have nothing but great things to say!

Week in the country
We stayed in the cabin for 8 nights, and it was wonderful. The whole cabin is beautifully made, in great condition, and has all the amenities you need for a nice relaxing stay. The hamlet is in a great location, an easy drive to lots of rivers, lakes, forest trails, and Jasper National Park. There are even beautiful walking trails a short 5 minute walk from the cabin, great for the dogs!

Perfect escape
If you are looking to get away from crowds and traditional tourist areas, but don’t want to get too “rustic”, this cabin is a perfect option. It’s a lovely, cozy cabin with genuine local roots. Not only is it clean and well-maintained, but it is well-appointed and very comfortable. We were only able to stay for three nights, but will definitely return for an even longer stay. If you are not familiar with the area, Robb is a perfect home base to explore the Coal Branch.

Relaxing weekend
Scott's cabin was the perfect spot for our relaxing weekend away. The place was clean, well maintained and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Scott had left helpful tips on places to see in the area, and even recommended some dog walking spots in the area! Highly recommend this place, we hope to visit again soon!

Nice hous, but bit remote.
The cabin is small, but fine. Everything you need can be found in the cottage. Neat and clean. Environment is beautiful. It will take you like 45 minutes to drive to the cabin from the nearest town. The only thing that bothered us a lot: the many, many, many mosquitoes outside. It was impossible to sit outside or take a walk without being attacked by millions of them.
