This hotel is in desperate need of renovation. It’s no wonder the occupancy was so low. The shower was filthy - floor and hardware were rusted, caulk was orange, they attempted to cover the condition with a bath mat that only created more mold. There was an old room key laying on the floor, evidence of the poor cleaning job between guests. Every single smoke detector in the hallway was ripped off the wall and beeped all night. The TV stopped working. The trash cans outside the hotel were overflowing with trash and cigarette butts left all over. We checked out early and found another hotel.

Poor and Unreliable Service
Chose this property for airport shuttle service and called prior to flight to confirm late night airport pickup availability. Receptionist assured that shuttle service is available and to call when I arrive. When I did arrive prior to midnight (earlier than expected), called and was told that deiver left for the night. Very unreliable and annoying esp because there were plenty other lower priced / higher value hotel property options I could have chose!

The simplicity of the exterior and welcoming covered entryway are conveniently surrounded by a large street level parking lot. The registration and service desks are conveniently located a few feet from the main entrance. A few feet further the interior space opens into a spectacular six-stories tall stunning atrium. The atrium is the visual and functional core of this DoubleTree lodging, event and meeting complex. Half of the guest rooms have doors to interior corridors as well as doors and windows overlooking the landscaped atrium with tropical plants and trees. Morning sunlight makes the space even more magical. Today’s hospitality business in the USA is strikingly different than it was decades previously when all-in-one multifunctional properties were established. Properties like this and most moderately priced lodgings now operate with far fewer staff than they did just a few years ago. We, as customers and consumers accept these realities and either accept them or can wish for unrealistic levels of service they knew from the past. I wish our frequent travel included more opportunities to book lodgings in places as inspiring as this Doubletree Hotel in Rochester (actually Henrietta) New York.
