Nice little cottage
This cottage is comfortable and decorated nicely. The beds are comfortable. The location between two commercial lots along a highway isn’t desirable. It needs a lobster pot—the one item every Maine rental should have.

Lots of good, but some frustrating things, too
The cabin is solid and well-built. When it's closed up, you can't hear much at all from the outside. It has a keurig and toaster and some nice basics for cooking. It's basically clean -- bathroom and kitchen were very clean -- but the details in the other rooms could be better. The remote was nowhere to be found (that's how we know the cabin could use a little extra cleaning tlc) and the owner responded to us that we could download an app, but that didn't work for us. The biggest problem was that it's in a little construction zone on a somewhat busy road. We had to finagle pulling in and plan for easy exiting because of trucks and equipment next door. And the house isn't quite done. A couple of (nice) guys came when we were getting ready to leave and they needed to use the electricity from the front porch to install a bilco door. This made us late for an appointment and also worried us because we needed to leave our dog at the cabin. I want to be clear that everyone was nice and did their best, but it was all unexpected. The cabin is also in a place that, while close to Rockland, etc., doesn't really have a place to walk. There are no sidewalks on the busy road and so the only place to walk your dog is around the cabin unless you get in the car and go somewhere else. The good news is that right down the road is a lovely farm/trail that we went to every morning -- but you need to drive there. In summary, I think that the cabin is generally nice and was affordable.
