My flight won’t arrive until late and Leo is very helpful and wait for me to check it. He is very nice and helpful. He gave me a map and showed me different attractions and how I can visit them. Lots of good suggestions from him. The room and bathroom has decent size. Clean and neat. Great location. Within 5 mins walk to Spanish steps.

Golden rooms Rome
This is a small hotel that occupies one floor in a building with other tenents. There is no staff there most of the time. I was given 3 keys. One to enter the building one for the hotel entrance and the other for my room. I would compare this place to pensiones I stayed at years ago. Parking is a block away in a garage. The room was small the bed was ok an the bathroom was quite nice with a large shower. The location is very convenient near the Spanish steps. Overall not a bad option for travellers on a budget.

Comfy bed and tasty coffee
The room was good for people who are quite intimate (curtain for a shower room door but the toilet was in a proper wc). The shower room was small but still functional (maybe not if you're very large), the small sink meant water ended up on the floor when I washed my face, it could be made a bit better by a bigger mirror and having a few hooks for clothes and towels (there was only one towel bar and a small unsteady shelf). More furniture in the room would be appreciated, such as a desk and another chair (there is enough space for it). There was a Nespresso coffee machine (2 regular and 2 decaf) and a small fridge in the room with some biscuits, juice and water. There are no blackout curtains so it can get bright in the room, fyi to bring your eyeshade if light bothers you. Also bring your earplugs; the noise from the street is stopped by the excellent windows however the noise of other guests coming and going in the hall is loud (no door insulation). Fortunately we didn't hear anyone else whilst they were in their rooms, only in the corridor. The bed was very comfortable, some kind of memory foam I think, sufficiently firm but with a lovely soft top. The pillow was the most comfortable pillow I have ever used (medium firm, I'm a side sleeper) and perfectly matched the suppleness of the mattress and I had a great sleep both nights of my stay. The breakfast was basic Italian of croissant, coffee, and juice (6-11am, a half a block away in cafe lembo) and was pleasant.

Very bad hotel, which looks like private rooms
No reception desk, the rooms are on the 3rd floor, with no elevator, untidy staff. I did not stay in that hotel.

Great location, yet very noisy
The best thing about our stay at the Golden Rooms was Nando from the reception desk. He was polite, professional and tried his absolute best to make us happy. Unfortunately, though we loved the location close to all major attractions, it was absolutely impossible to sleep day or night, due to the excessive street noise. Thus, the owner should seriously think about investing in soundproofing the rooms. Thermopane windows and soundproof shutters (that close properly) would make this B&B a great choice for travellers.

Perfect for walking Rome!
I had a very positive experience at the Golden Rooms. I booked 1 room for just me so it had a little twin bed. I am a 27 year old woman from the US and I felt very safe here as a solo traveler. The person who let me in (I believe Nino) was very helpful. He gave me a map and pointed out and circled all of the points of interest in the area before I got settled in. You must pay in CASH fyi. That was not a problem for me. I literally walked to the Coliseum which took about 20 minutes and was a beautiful walk on a nice day. From there I took a tour and walked the entire tour and then I went to the Trevi Fountain on my own and then The Spanish Steps which ended my exploration of Rome and the Spanish Steps were literally up the block from the hotel!! So in the nutshell the location is very central and walkable. I would stay here again!

Great stay. Brilliant location for trevi fountain, Soanish steps and bars and restaurants. Breakfast wasn't much, a croissant and a coffee. Biggest negative was the lack of a bathroom door! This made things very awkward when showering!

One of the worst five hotels I have ever stayed in
Thanks to hopelessly inadequate and positively misleading directions on the hotel's website, I spent two hours walking round and round carrying my luggage in sweltering heat trying to find this place. I rang the hotel over and over again, yet not once did anybody bother to answer the phone to help me. Having left Dublin at 6.30am, I finally - having given up on anybody answering the phone - reached my room after 4pm exhausted and soaked in sweat after two hours of trying to locate it. The best part of the day was gone, the city break was ruined. The shower had to be run for several minutes before it became even tepid. Breakfast consisted of being given a voucher for a croissant and coffee at a cafe in the neighbourhood. That's it. I asked if I could leave my luggage for a few hours. It transpired that my luggage would be left at an unattended reception area and that other guests would therefore have unhindered access to it. So I had no choice other than to spend the second and final day of a totally ruined city break yet again carrying my luggage around all day in the Rome heat. The staff member was pretty hopeless, with a very limited understanding of English. I have been a regular traveller for over 30 years and must have stayed at hundreds of hotels. If I had to compose a list of the worst five, Golden Rooms would easily be in the top five and probably in the top three. Just an absolutely awful experience that completely ruined my holiday. Avoid like the plague.

Hidden fees and disappointing room
We checked into Golden Rooms this past Sunday Oct. 20th. There were 5 of us (self, hubby, 2 sons and mom). We booked 2 rooms and when we checked in they had us on different sides of the building each of which requires separate keys. Also the walls were paper thin, the rooms were clean but outdated and well worn. It rained the night we were there and the rain flowed into one of the rooms soaking my mother's suitcase. Also, they don't tell you about hidden fees per person in Rome or Italy. We were hit with that as well. The breakfast is a roll and coffee down the street. I suggest looking elsewhere. You can find better for that price.

Nice location, no lobby
This facility is at good location, the staff was fine and the room was clean. The thing is that the visitor should know that there is no Lobby. You should ring or call at the door. Also there is no sign of the hotel (just the address), and credit cards are not accepted.

Excellent location, basic accomodation
Excellent location for walking to the majority of monuments, sites and restaurants! 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station. Room was cleaned regularly, basic Italian breakfast. Only downfalls were lack of furniture in the room, and the very thin walls meaning we could hear our neighbours when they were in their room. Would still recommend to those visiting Rome due to the location and reasonable price!

Staff disconcerting and not very informative. COULD ONLY PAY IN CASH. So should this place be called a b and b although you have to walk up the street for stale pasteries. Only good thing was the location to the spanish steps

I really enjoyed my stay here, what I loved more than anything is how comfortable it felt there, especially so far from home. The location is perfect, very close to all the major attractions, you are also steps from the metro so it was easy getting around. There are also tons of restaurants to choose from and great places to grab a gelato. overall experience was really great.

Perfect location, affordable, and comfortable
This was the best hotel we stayed in on our trip. It was a short walk from the Barberini Metro station, walking distance to many Rome attractions, and in an area with lots of good restaurants. Would definitely recommend it, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Good for a quick stop.
Italy is expensive so I will not judge this hotel too harshly. You get what you pay for. Location is pretty great, close to the spanish steps, metro and buses. The room was big for european standards. However, I won't consider this a "hotel" since it doesn't have a lobby nor a concierge to help you out. Think about it more you are renting a suite in a condo. The cleaning lady was rude and every time I asked for something had no answers. It had internet but it was ok. The bathroom was huge but the shower was tiny. You could barely move, that's how small it was. Overall, good to sleep and get out. We were there for 2 nights so it did the trick for what we paid.
