Great central location
We had a nice stay at this large property for our extended family of 18. Plenty of space for everyone and the kids practically lived in the pool. The location was very central to a ton of amazing sites in the area. That said, Wifi only worked in a few rooms, we never found the air conditioning we expected on the property and did not see the fitness room described in the write up. The house was very close to a main road and the road noise was pretty loud on that side of the house with the windows open (which they had to be with no air conditioning).) Overall a nice rental, but a bit misrepresented.

Chez Suzi stay
We were one of 5 couples that stayed at Chez Suzi for a week. The house was easy to find (it features in Google Maps) and was well kitted out. The rooms were all spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was of a good size and well maintained. It was easy to park our 5 cars. As a bonus, hot air balloons take off and land in a nearby field. Recommended.

Lots pf space for 9 of us.
What a great week we had, we all took our gym kit onboard luggage but no training equipment was available as stated, so we had to lay by the pool and read in the sun! Canoes available to rent nearby and wonderful markets, need to drive everything but no where far. House could do with a little attention but you won't be disappointed, we all said we would go back one day .

Great house and location
We had a wonderful time staying at Chez Suzy. The house was lovely and the location was great. We visited Beynac, Domme, Sartan market, Belves evening market and kayaked. It was easy to reach all these places. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space. It was clean and the pool and outside dining area was fabulous too. The host got back to us quickly and answered all our questions. We would recommend it. We had a really great time. Thank you.

Fantastic week stay
The Chateau is beautiful, I particularly liked that it had a play room perfect for a little girl with all toys and dolls, my daughter was well entertained there. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed a barbecue night. Only downside is it is not walking distance really from anything, you really need a car to get around and we could not find car hire cheaper than £700 for 4 days rental! Car hire is super expensive all over Dordogne and there aren't any supermarkets close by. Nevertheless, if we had driven and taken own car it would of been perfect. Thank you

June holiday at Chez-Suzy
We had a lovely holiday at Chez-Suzy we were a group of 13 ranging in age from 5 - 85 the location is great with some lovely places to visit close by. The pool is lovely and we used it every day the only thing I would say is that it could do with some soft pads on the bed chairs as they are plastic and very hard also the parasols could do with updating. Plenty of space outside and lovely to sit out and eat over looking the river, lots of toys for the children to play with. Inside was large and comfortable. Evelyne was very quick to help us with any query’s we had, I emailed her and she responded very quickly. Thank you a lovely stay

Perfect house for visiting the heart of the Dordogne
Evelyne could not have been more helpful. The property has excellent bbq facilities and a good, heated pool and excellent bedrooms. The terrace is a great place to sit in the evening overlooking the Dordogne, sometimes watching balloons float over the house from their launch in the field behind the house. Baynac is lovely, the castle with its English history fascinating and Sarlat and lots of other interesting towns and villages to be explored nearby. Canoeing on the river, cycling nearby cycle paths .... so much to do virtually on the doorstep and a woodland hill walk from the back of the house. A very lovely holiday. Thank you

Perfect for our group of 10!
The house was very well equipped and a great set-up for us. We used all the seating areas, the pool, the grassy garden with the adirondack chairs, the picnic table, the patio table right outside the kitchen. It was so fun. We all enjoyed it so much. The location was ideal! We rented E-Bikes from Libery-Cycle which were awesome. We rode all over the Dordogne Valley on the bike trails. We will recommend this place to all our friends and family. Thank you Chez Suzy and Evelyn!

A bit of paradise in the Dordogne; Un petit coin du paradis en Dordogne
Our family spent a delightful week in this beautiful house right near Beynac in July. The house is as good, or better, than the photos -- large, comfortable, beautifully located above the Dordogne river. The bedrooms are large, most face the river, the beds are comfortable. There is an enormous outdoor area, perfectly made for kids as well as adults, with playground equipment, a boules court, ping pong, badminton, a sparkling lightly salted pool, and a garden to sit in or explore. Farm animals next door, a donkey, goats, chickens, etc. provided lots of interest to "city kids". We were 7 adults and 2 children yet there was lots of room for everyone to get involved preparing meals in the kitchen, an indoor as well as outdoor dining table, a TV where we could watch World Cup games, WIFI that worked well except for one day because of a recent storm. The property is so large that there are always areas of shade, even in the hottest weather. Evelyne Trémoulet is a very attentive, friendly, accommodating hostess, eager to answer questions and make our stay as perfect as it could be. Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse is a short ride from Beynac and walkable, although the only forest path that we could find took us back onto the road well before the town. Since there was no shoulder, it was not safe to walk it at night and, during high season, probably not during the day, which was a pity since we would have loved to leave the car behind. This same road (2-lane) goes right under the house, so you can hear some traffic, mostly during the day so sleep is not interrupted at night. There are nice, accommodating touches for kids -- high chair and folding gates at the tops and bottoms of stairs. All in all, a beautifully thought out house for guests and in probably the most beautiful area of France. Charming towns with outdoor markets, medieval châteaux, pre-historic cave paintings, canoeing on the river, hot-air balloons flying overhead, fabulous Périgourdien food, and friendly people. What more could one ask for a family vacation?

Beautifully situated property
We were a group of ten ranging from 9-74 and the house had something for everyone. There was one main floor bedroom for my mobility impaired husband which worked very well. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved eating dinner out on the patio. The pool was a bit nippy for the Floridians...not sure if the heater was on. We saw hot air balloons almost every night and one night one went right over the house...great photo op. Do go to the market in St Cyprien. We thought it to be the best of all that we went to.. Sarlat's was so big it was overwhelming. Only downside was communication with Mme Tremolet who, as mentioned in another review, speaks little English. When I asked how to communicate with her I thought she indicated by text, but those went unanswered. However she responded quickly to emails. It was our very first experience using VRBO and I was nervous as a newbie especially with the language difference but it did all work out to a great family reunion.

Great location, lovely pool, house a little 'tired'
We had a week with 3 generations of the family here in early August. The house is in a great location by the Dordogne and a 10 minute walk into Beynac. The saltwater pool is very nice and there is plenty of space for table tennis, boule, volleyball etc. I would not recommend the property to anyone who doesn't have a very competent French speaker in the party. Although the property details on homeaway.co.uk state that both English and French are spoken, Evelyne speaks little/no English and communication is very difficult. On arrival, our introduction to the property was limited to a request to sign a waiver to any issues arising from the pool. I am sure that Evelyne is a very helpful hostess/owner for those with fluent French - unfortunately we are not.

Great place for families
Well equipped, spacious house with great views of the river. Local food shops were good, and a large supermarket not far away. The warm pool was great for the hot days and the children loved it. It is not fenced but there is an electrically operated cover to make it secure when not in use. We were a large party (12 adults and 5 children) and it worked very well for us.

Beautiful vacation house
We really loved this house and its location was perfect. The owner was very responsive, and available but unintrusive. It has comfortable beds, the good shutters keep it cool in the day time, and the pool is clean and very nice, not too salty, and the steps are nice for small children. The gardens are lovely and well tended, and we loved watching the hot air balloons floating down the river valley at dawn and dusk - the house is almost on the river - it's just across the road. The patio is situated on the side of the house so as to be in full shade at dinner. The bathrooms have all been recently renovated. The kitchen is well equipped, no food stuffs or coffee though. The location is fantastic. It's close enough to Beynac to run into the market, though there was afternoon traffic on the river road through town most days. We took care to plan around it and it wasn't a problem. The nearest large supermarket is a Carrefour market in St Cyprien, about 10 minutes in the opposite direction - no traffic and a good selection. We were choosing between this house and one in Sarlat, and while Sarlat is beautiful the traffic there was terrible (we were there in August) and we were really happy with our choice to stay near Beynac instead. We found it was a good location to visit many local attractions: Castelnaud, Beynac, La Roque, Marqueyssac, Lascaux, Sarlat. I would definitely recommend this house, and would stay there again.

A great location
The house is charming and Evelyne and Pascal are very accommodating. A/C is listed as an amenity but there is no air con...however Evelyne was extremely prompt in delivering fans for every room when i let her know how hot the house was. The poolside furniture could do with an upgrade..the loungers have no cushions and the parasol bases dont hold the parasols very well as a slight breeze sees them fly out. But the good far out weighs these minor things and we had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend.
