This modern 3 bed 2 bathroom holiday lodge is sited on a tasteful small development within the hamlet of Soar. Situated above Soar Mill Cove it has uninterrupted views of NT land and a view to the sea. Soar Mill Cove is a 15-20 min walk with its un spoilt beach surrounded by Cliffs & Rock Pools. There are stunning coastal and country walks with easy access to hidden beaches and coves. Salcombe & Hope Cove are within 3 miles via cliff top walks. There is a large diversity of wild life including Buzzards, Kestrels, Gannets and the occasional Red Deer. Hope Cove, Malborough and Bantham have excellent pubs / restaurants. Salcombe is a centre for sailing, fishing, Scuba diving and shopping. From Salcombe there are foot passenger ferries across the estuary to South Sands and to Kingsbridge. South Hams also includes the towns of: Totnes, Modbury, and Dartmouth which are well worth a visit. The area also boasts 2 Heritage Steam Railways and 3 Golf Clubs.

Family at Salcombe
We arrived to a sparkling clean and well equipped lodge and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. The beds were so comfortable and the site well kept and quiet and everyone seemed to respect everyoneā€™s privacy. We walked our socks off from East Soar and Bolberry both nearby with good parking and absolute fantastic trails along the coastal path. Loved all the beaches that were nearby. We ate at some fine pubs and restaurants nearby in Salcombe and Hope Cove. Check in and communication with owner was excellent with a very helpful folder with information regarding the local area. I do not hesitate in recommending this lovely lodge in a beautiful part of South Devon.

Peaceful retreat close to coastal paths
Wonderful large lodge ideal for our family. Most relaxing time ever. The lodge had everything we needed, Beds were very comfortable with lovely soft linen and the site was remote and quiet but slightly out of season which suited us, canā€™t imagine getting too noisy though as good space and double glazed. Parking very good. Nice Soar Mill Cove hotel a short walk away for quality meals and spa facility. Soar mill cove is lovely for a private cool dip. We took advantage of Mikeā€™s taxi to get us back from a beautiful coastal walk to Salcombe but missed out on Overbecks garden visit as closed on Friday and Saturday but will go back. Walk to Hope cove was also beautiful. In all could not fault anything lovely lodge. Would recommend.

September vacation
The property was in a lovely quiet position but did feel the shop should have been open whilst people were on site because of its location. When we arrived the sofa still had some sand on, there are cobwebs in bedroom windows and some kitchen utensils were not too clean. We really enjoyed our stay and felt totally relaxed whilst there. Would recommend.

+ accommodation + location + cosy + value + quiet + restful + playing field for children + would return + would recommend - needs deep clean - needs decluttering - needs a bit of t l c - bedding and towels / stayed two weeks only one set of sheets / towels (might be expected to wash the bedding we had, however, difficult to wash and dry at 5.5 hrs wash and dry cycle) particularly when weather is bad and line drying is not possible.

Was very clean and had everything we needed, location was perfect for us for walking and fishing, didnā€™t get to use local shop but we were out of season. The only small negative was some of the doors close shut so either a magnet catch or something else would have been useful. Tv was good and had plenty of choice.

Well appointed and great setup for a group
We really enjoyed our stay in the lodge - we didn't ever have the feeling that we were missing anything. The beds were all very comfortable and all the appliances and fittings worked just as they should. We especially loved the big sofa with the view where we could all gather together to relax. All in all, the property helped to make the holiday easy and stress free.

We really enjoyed the peaceful serenity of this site, the fabulous sea views from our balcony, the generous living space and cosy fire, and the proximity to the lovely coastal walks. Our boys made friends with other children at the Salcombe Retreat and spent many hours up at the adventure playground. A real haven of relaxation for us all. We shall return!

Well equipped lodge and very comfortable. We needed to speak to site manager but never found him in the office, we had an issue with ants and had to fix it ourselves. A contact number should be found in lodge. Other than this it was a nice quiet place and would be happy to return.

Great base for exploring South Devon
We had a great time. The property was lovely and had every thing you needed with great views and lovely sunsets. Very peaceful place to stay. Great position, easy to walk into South Sands in Salcombe. Soar Mill Cove is a lovely quiet beach just down the hill from the property. South Milton is a lovely beach and has a lovely place to eat. We would stay at this property again. Thank you.

The Lodge was lovely and spacious, clean and cosy with everything we needed. We had lovely weather, which made it good for walking the coastal paths, lots of good walks and lovely sandy coves, and views.

Beautiful lodge
This was a lovely lodge with every amenity you could need, (though we did have a sign saying enjoy the free wine but didn't get any!). It was warm and inviting and beds were comfortable and there was plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. The only thing I would say is that it is very difficult to get down to the beach which is actually a private beach by the nearby hotel, though as we ate at the Hotel one night they were happy for us to use it. It is a very steep hill down and my very fit 78 year old mother with arthritic knees couldn't walk it unfortunately/ That was the only downside and everything else was really good.
