The staff was great even checking in. The room was very clean, but you could see some repairs done. Loved the way our room was set up with the sitting area and bed were separated with a wall that was half glass and wood.

A great spot quiet Clean safe and well-kept!!
This place was fantastic. I've been at other Shilo Inns and I think this one was better. A four-story building with all parking underneath the building /covered. Friendly professional staff at the front desk and the room was quiet clean dry and safe area. A handful of restaurant choices around we're all so good easy to get to the freeway only one block away but incredibly quiet and had a wonderful night's sleep I hope to have to travel through Salem again I would definitely stay here again!! I want to post photos below but hotels.com website seems to not be allowing photos and/or upload photo button is broken

Better than the rating suggests
Unlike other hotelsm I got the room I booked. The internet was fast enough to watch 4k streaming video. Also I needed to upload a 7gb video to YouTube since I am a YouTube content creator and it only took about 45 minutes, (about 3x as long at at home), but that is still better than most hotels where it would take hours. The room was clean and overall it was quiet. I was expecting breakfast, but I may have just assumed it had it and not looked when I booked.

Let’s start with the dog policy. On Shilo inn’s website it states “ Your dog may be left unattended in your room. However, if you leave the premises of the hotel with your dog unattended in the room, the dog must be in a crate or dog carrier while you are gone” that’s the whole reason we chose this location, we came up to visit the zoo for my 4 year old daughters birthday. Not to mention we stayed here last year with no issues. The manager states she changed the policy and the website does not reflect the actual policy. Corporate was contacted and confirmed that the websites policy is the true policy and should be honored. Informed the manager about this and she replied I don’t give a crap about your feelings or what they have to say. After arguing for 20 mins she finally gave in and stated I needed to sign an agreement stating I’m putting my dog at risk, when asked what risk she informed me that if anything was to happen she would call animal control and remove my dog. Needless to say I didn’t trust this unhinged women and My parents drove from Seattle to pick up my dog for the day so we could still celebrate my daughters birthday. The next night someone tried chasing me and my daughter from a dark corner in there parking garage into a stairwell. Luckily I slammed the door in time and locked them out. Do not stay here! The night time front desk guy was super nice and handled the crazy guy.

It is an older facility so some wear and tear. Excellent friendly staff. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Room was very clean. We had a room with two queen beds and it was very spacious. Water pressure on the 4th floor was not that great but it worked.

After reading some bad reviews I was skeptical about booking this hotel. We had stayed here before. I voiced my concerns to the young man at the front desk. He said I’ll give you a room up on the fourth floor and if it’s not to your liking, please come back. The room is very clean. The carpet was fine. Everything worked. We were only here for one night while on the road. The bed was super comfy. Yes, the property is old and needs refurbishing. All we wanted was a good night sleep and we got it.
