It’s a nice place to stay at. There’s restaurants walking distance away in addition to a Target. The downside to our visit was that the dishwasher was broken and there was no sponge or soap to clean dishes with.

Mainstay suites tome and time again impresses me no matter the city that I’m in. My fiancé and I stayed here for one night as part of a larger road trip. The location was very convenient and the room was in great condition. The Wi-Fi was pretty quick and the room felt more like an apartment. Everything from the oven, the stovetop, the work desk, and more had us wishing we had chosen to stay for longer. Great stop through with loads of amenities.

Hospitality is NOT dead in Utah
Mainstays, located in a very convenient part of Midvale/Cottonwood Heights, is a very pleasant little extended stay. The staff is very hospitable and the other guests were extremely friendly. I recommend this place for business travel, and if you need a slightly longer stay than the weekend. The price was also unbeatable, for what I could find in the area.

Nice quite location real close to stores. Only thing hotel need do more detail on cleaning and make sure rooms are clean before allowing people check in, our sheets were dirty, carpet need to be shampoo.

There was a weird smell in my room, and when I opened the window to air the room out I found that the bug screen had been completely ripped out. Front desk service was spotty, if there was even anyone there at all. They’d leave a sign to dial “0” on the lobby telephone to call someone but there was no lobby telephone.

The place was surrounded by lurkers that weren’t staying there, but wouldn’t leave. The vibe was more Thunderdome than easy, clean place to stay. Thankfully, the gent at the check in desk was kind enough to recommend we park in front, for “visibility.” Upon unlocking the room door, we were greeted by trash from the prior guest (best guess?) under the bed and quite possibly the stickiest floors (carpet AND vinyl) we’ve ever encountered. Hard pass.

This is clearly one of SLC's best kept secrets. I was a bit hesitant making the booking as feedback wasn’t as great as I'd hoped, but I needn't have worried - the location is great, the room is perfect and the price can't be beaten. I'll certainly be back here if I'm in town again. I did have two small complaints: most of the staff were very pleasant and professional, but one was pretty abrupt when I visited the front desk a couple of times. I also found it unusual that there was no washing powder available for the guest laundry, even to purchase - I was actually directed to visit one of the nearby shops to buy my own, which I was disappointed by.

Room was dirty, trash next to room was filled with a bunch of beer cans. Toilet was stained and wasn’t working very well. Aside from that, people were running around above our room and we did not get much sleep.
