Mission Bay Studio w Ocean Views from Rooftop Deck

Summary:
This wonderful green vacation getaway is completely furnished and powered by a solar electric system. All you need to pack is your clothes! Equipped with a microwave, hot plate, toaster oven, filtered water and fridge (along with an available outdoor grill) for your cooking needs. The Murphy bed always gets rave reviews for comfort and convenience. Step-in shower for safety and ease. You even get your own in-unit washer/dryer. The studio is rounded out with its own mini-split heater and AC unit.

The Space:
This is a guest suite that is part of a larger home. The suite is self-contained with a separate entrance and totally private. Coffee-maker & grinder with fresh coffee and milk frothing machine. Fridge is stocked with plenty of water, soda and beer. Plus, we have recently built a 3rd story deck on which you can relax and enjoy a quiet, beautiful San Diego sunset, or perhaps one of the many summer fireworks shows put on by Sea World. We also supply beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, an umbrella, as well as a cooler to keep your drinks cold, if you want to take a trip to the bay or beach.

With views of Mission Bay & south to Sea World & Point Loma. This is perfect for you to enjoy all the activities that make San Diego America's Finest City. Minutes to our beaches, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Little Italy, Balboa Park, The Old Globe Theater, Petco Park, Coronado, La Jolla, fine dining and shopping. Easy access to the Del Mar Racetrack, Lego Land and San Diego Zoo Safari Park. If you are looking for the perfect location to be right in the mix of things without the hustle-bustle & noise - this is the ideal location.

Guest Access:
You have access to your private studio and the shared grounds of the home, including a roof-top deck. There are 2 studios and the host's home that are all part of this property.

The Neighborhood:
Mission Bay is about the most central location in all of San Diego. Easy access to nearly every beach in San Diego; 5 minutes to Sea World; 10 minutes to the Zoo, Gaslamp, Balboa Park; and 15 minutes to the Airport.

Getting Around:
We always recommend a car to get around San Diego, but we are a just quick 5-10 minute walk to the Clairemont Dr. trolley station if you wish to use transit during your visit and Uber/Lyft are also very convenient in San Diego.

Other Things to Note:
For the safety and security of our guests, there are 4 cameras located on the outside of the building, one facing the driveway, 2 along the walkway, and 1 on the 3rd story deck. We do not permit smoking at this property. No pets allowed.

Interaction with Guests:
I love, love, love helping my guests. Whether is it teaching them how to drive to take their driver's license exam or taking guests to Tijuana for some of the best restaurants on the planet (bring your passport!).

I stayed in the studio here and it was absolutely wonderful. The studio has everything you could need and is peaceful. The hosts are so terrific, friendly, and helpful. And the rooftop deck has incredible sprawling views of the Bay all the way to the Pacific with a special treat of SeaWorld fireworks in the evening. I can't recommend this place enough!

This was a wonderful place to stay. We will definitely stay again!!! Lots of great amenities.... only 10-15 min drive to downtown. Just wish the weather was a little better we could have taken more advantage of the Rooftop patio. The owner and property mgmt were kind and helpful. Room was clean and pleasant.

Awesome place, awesome people!
I went to Mission Bay looking to get away for a couple days. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised on how spacious yet cozy this place seemed. Murphy bed was a great way to get maximum usable space. I must admit, I would first fall asleep in one of the zero gravity reclining chairs, and then end up having to get into the Murphy bed. :-) Rooftop lounge area was a great place to center myself at night. Owners were incredibly hospitable, communicative, friendly, and attentive. Thank you very much for allowing me to stay in your home. I will definitely be staying with them again, and would highly recommend.

Solo Work Retreat
My trip to San Diego was solely for a personal solo work retreat (with no vehicle). When my Uber driver dropped me off he asked, 'you sure you want to stay here? There's nothing around you.' I thought wonderful, because I want nothing and no distractions. However, I found within walking distance three delicious coffee shops, a fabulous block of restaurants and a grocery store. As well, it was perfect walking distance to Mission Bay Park. I loved my room/space and I absolutely loved the rooftop deck! I felt safe and comfortable being alone. Quick drive from the airport too!

My husband and I Traveled to San Diego from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania right after Thanksgiving. It was an amazing experience and we can’t say enough good things about the room and John and Cathy. Everything from booking to arriving was smooth sailing and a positive experience for us . They were very accommodating to everything we needed . The room was great we were very comfortable during our stay! The rooftop deck was one of our favorite parts and was a beautiful place to watch the sunsets! If we ever go back to San Diego we will be sure to stay here again !

We enjoyed our stay. The only thing that we found was without a vehicle it was hard to get to a store or restaurants. Close to the trolly system for some access. Easy check in and comfortable space. If we rented again we would choose the porch unit to have better access to the outdoor space.

Small but very efficient space. Many pleasant extras. Coffee, soda, snacks,etc. Our only complaint was the bed, it was a wall bed but was so low to the floor we couldn't use it. We slept in the chairs all week.

One of my favorite places to stay
I was here with my mom for a daughter trip. We were lucky to find this place. It was perfect for the two of us. The hosts were great and we loved all of the yard features. We enjoyed drinking some wine on the roof deck. I fell asleep up there one night while watching the SeaWorld fireworks. We loved all of the little touches. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The apartment was clean, well stocked, had extra perks like free snacks, beer, water etc. The host was very helpful and accommodating and I loved that all the beach equipment you might need is available for you to take at any time. My only negative review of the place is that the listing is not entirely accurate about where the studio is located within the property. Nor do the pictures accurately depict it’s location either. When staying at this location you are literally staying in their house. Yes, you have a private entrance. Yes, it is underneath the main house, but nonetheless you are living underneath the hosts house. That means you hear everything they are doing during the day. I was working remotely during my stay and was often interrupted by loud noises above me. At night it was peaceful and quiet, but during the day it could get noisy since the hosts are often home. Due to this living situation I didn’t feel like I had a lot of privacy. When I was coming and going the hosts were always around and often stopped me to talk or ask how my trip was going. As sweet and nice as it was I really just wanted to be left alone. At times I felt like I was staying at my mothers house. Like I had to sneak around. Also, there are no blackout curtains in the unit and very bright lights lighting the pathway to your front door. Aggressively bright light shines through the curtains. Simply adding blackout curtains would be a game changer.
