A quirky hotel with helpful staff. Would’ve preferred the coffee/tea to be replenished without having to ask. Some unsavoury types hung around on nearby pavements but then there are lots of homeless folk in the city centre and they never bothered us.

surprisingly stylish and friendly in this part of San Francisco that is generally not too friendly. the decoration brings back memories from a bygone era. some in the neighburing rooms were pretty loud. earplugs recommended.

Despite the very long wait to check in, the staff were extremely helpful and understanding and they were able to help me get a room when I was in a huge time crunch. The rooms had the most comfortable beds that I’ve been on and there was a good amount of space in the room for two people.

Constant electricity issues and extra costs
During a 6 days stay, 3 continuous days the energy was cut at least 4 times per day. Wasn't restored unless you call to the front desk to inform them the issue. We aknowledge this because the first day, after 2 hours melting with 37C, we called and they fixed it. Otherwise, nobody is paying attention. In addition the central AC was overheated, and the air comming out was even hotter than room temperature. The other thing to take in account is the hide costs (extra daily cost for pool, gym, etc), but the facilities are not even in the hotel!, to use it you must to go to the hotel in front...

Nice hotel, area around is a bit rough but doable...air con in the hotel is under repair so the had temporary aircon units in the room...they work, are a bit noisy and you have to turn it off to run a hair dryer or boil water.lol. Look overall we enjoyed the stay.
