We'd been at this hotel before. The idea was not to go through customs, it's still USA. The cons are definitely there: food is just no good. If you want to have frozen veggies, almost no fruits and frozen fish/meat, you found the place. There is a great sushi place off grounds - just a side note - but it's private and nothing to do with the hotel. But the main issue for me was security. It was a joke literally. They check your wrist band when you go to the pool, but there's a way to enter same area without showing it and many locals do so. People went into the pool with clothes on and they were locals it was clear. Moreover, by the beach there's a pathway on the rocks. Locals go in daily, one came in with his son, unfolded the chair and they just sat there. Private beach, anyone? So when I told the guard he said, I have a son too, and brought him water. Shook hands with the guy, they spoke in Spanish and exhanged hugs. The guyard then explained to me that this is not a private beach, this is public beach(!) and that he can sit at that area, but cannot "touch the grounds" whatever that meant. What is that BS? I didn't make a scene because I still had to stay there for a few more days and who knows what the housekeeping would do to teach this New Yorker a lesson. They are locals, they are all brothers, right? I got kids too, and I work a lot to come there to relax and pay quite a lot of money. I felt like an idiot for doing so. It pains me to say it but DR is better.

The hotel is nicely located near the beach/lagoon area. There is not much to do outside of the property. The condition of the hotel is decent but parts of it reflect the age if the building.

Lovely with ways to enjoy both the ocean and pools. Easy to access Old San Juan and group tours. Also possible to have a car which is best to explore the entire island. It was the perfect place to relax and also combine exploration and adventure,

My children and I stayed here for Christmas and had a ball. The hotel has its own private beach, so bring snorkeling gear and save yourself lots of money as you can snorkel right there on the beach and see the pretty colorful fish. We ran at scooters every day and took a ride to Old San Juan, which was about a 10 minute ride on the scooters. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and will be back. There’s things to do for young children as my youngest is eight as well as the older children as my oldest is 22. Eating on the actual resort is pricey, but there’s plenty to eat in Old San Juan. If you get the breakfast buffet, make sure you hit the omelette station and the waffle station delicious.

Property is clean and accessible. Staff is really amazing and friendly. Pool bar offers excellent drinks options and food is delicious and freah. Will definetely go back. The only thing is they need to add night entertainment with music at the main bar. Excellent stay.

I’m giving 2/5 because the experience didn’t meet expectations for a hotel of this level: 1.Cleanliness: When we arrived, the shower hadn’t been cleaned at all—there was hair and dirt left from previous guests, which was really gross. 2.Sliding Door Issues: The balcony was nice for enjoying the ocean view, but there was no screen on the sliding door. If you want to keep it open to hear the waves, you risk lizards wandering into the room. 3.Temperature Problem: on our last day there, the room got up to 83°F, and the thermostat wasn’t working. I called the front desk, and while they promised someone would come ASAP, no one showed up even after one hour. 4. Missing Amenities: For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected at least bottled water in the room daily. Instead, we only got some the day we checked in. The location and views were great, but the lack of attention to these basic details really let us down.

Caribe Hilton is in a good central location. The hotel was clean but had odd odors throughout the venue.The guest rooms are very outdated. The bartender at the inside bar was very rude.

It was my first trip to Puerto Rico, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! At the hotel, one of the staff members went above and beyond by upgrading my room to a beautifully remodeled one. The view from my room? Absolutely stunning—like something straight out of a postcard. The valet service was not only convenient but also reasonably priced, making everything so seamless. And for fellow coffee lovers like me, the property even had a Starbucks on-site—talk about a perfect touch! 😊
