This beautiful, detached villa, with it's own pool 6m x 3m, ample garden and wonderful mountain views has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Situated in an edge of village position, within walking distance of a restaurant/bar/gelateria where one can dine on the terrace enjoying the mountain views. The restaurant also offers basic shopping.

Large lounge with original fireplace & Sat-TV. WIFI and a comfortable double sofabed.
Fully equipped traditional style kitchen diner, including washing machine & dishwasher, leading out to a large terrace, perfect for dining al fresco while taking in the view of the Apuan marble mountains.

The location is 4km north of the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with its famous Thursday morning market, numerous bars & restaurants. Closer to home, the village of Villetta a 5 min walk away and has a restaurant, bar, pizzeria and a grocer shop. The train station is a 5/10 minute walk, for Lucca and beyond.
The Golf Course of Garfagnana is only a 5 min drive (6 holes) and the lake of Pontecosi too.
The area is ideal for trekking and mountain biking.
The fully walled mediaeval city of Lucca is an hour or so away, and is a great day out, full of sightseeing opportunities, restaurants, architecture, shopping, opera, and cycling around the walls.
Pisa with its airport, and of course famous for its Duomo and Tower is a 90 mindrive, and Florence with its wealth of history and art is 1 hr 40 mins.
The beautiful mediaeval town of Barga is a 25 min drive, and is lovely to visit, with its cathedral, cobbled streets, great views, outdoor music, and wealth of restaurants....
The National Parks of the Garfagnana, and the local ancient fortress (great for picnics!) are only a short drive away, as is the zip wire course through the trees, and of course there are numerous hilltop villages to visit very locally. Close also to a fantastic place for swimming in the river.

Toller Aufenthalt
Wir waren zwei Wochen in der Unterkunft. Die Zeit dort war sehr schön und erholsam. Der kurze Weg zum Eisladen war für das Portemonnaie gefährlich. Wir haben fast jeden Tag dort gegessen. Die Kommunikation mit der Agentur war super. Immer erreichbar und immer eine Lösung parat. Auch die Eigentümerin durften wir kennenlernen. Auch sehr angenehm.
Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und ist sehr geräumig. (Wir waren zu sechst + Hund.)

Toller Urlaub
Danke das wir eine Woche in dem schönen Haus verbringen durften.
Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch unsere zwei Hunde waren in dem komplett eingezäunten Grundstück sehr glücklich.
Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Ein guter Ort zum Entspannen
Die Villa Matilde ist ein guter Ort zum Entspannen. Das Haus ist sauber, der Blick von der Terrasse wunderschön. Die Kommunikation mit Loretta war sehr gut und verlässlich, im Haus und im Außenbereich hat alles funktioniert. Es gibt sehr schöne Bergdörfer in der Umgebung, die einen Besuch lohnen (Barga z.B.); nach Pisa & Lucca braucht man ca. eine Stunde mit dem Auto. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind in der Nähe, ein Auto ist empfehlenswert. Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen - viele Dankesgrüße nach Italien.
