House was dated but cute and cozy. Nice that it was walkable to downtown. But that also comes with alot of noise at night. But was fine. Outside patio area needs power washed. Trash can outside was full till near end of stay. Grass in backyard nearly to your knees. The guy showed up to cut it and hadn’t been able to get in backyard to cut it so I let him in back while I was there. He also took the trash. The backyard being fenced fully with our dog though was awesome Drain in shower extremely slow. Although we had bad rain couple days that possibly contributed to that. I messaged host everything when we were leaving so he’d know. We were in and out so much it wasn’t big deal. Overall though it was better than being in small hotel room. Especially with the dog.

Perfect For Family And Our Pups
The backyard is nice and secure for our dogs. House is typical historical house, SMALL, but still decent. Does have the normal historical features-low ceilings, small rooms, etc., but overall a good place. Could stand to have the roof cleaned and the outside paint freshened up, but was as advertised. Check in is at 3 not 2, but owner is easy to work with and was flexible for checkout since we locked our keys in and had to wait for a locksmith. There is NO HOMELESS camp in the area and area was fairly quite beyond normal noise from businesses, traffic, and the occasional train. House is central to a lot of things to do. Worked for what we needed for the week we stayed.

Cute Downtown Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage located in the Sanford Historic District. The location was excellent and the property is clean and well maintained. The cottage is older but in keeping with the area and what we expected.

UPON ARRIVAL THERE WAS A HOMELESS CAMP DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET WHICH OWNER DENIED. AREA CRIME RATE D+. WE HAVE PICTURES. WE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. NO REFUND. BEWARE.

Everything was fine until it wasn’t
I agree with the other reviews saying the house is pretty rundown. Very low ceilings…the “no bedroom door” thing. It served its purpose for our stay. The owner at first was very kind and responsive. Sunday was our last full day there. We were checking out Monday morning. My husband, myself, and our son woke Sunday morning to get showers for a very long day at a football camp. We had no hot water. I reached out to Dixon. He was quick to reply stating a maintenance worker would fix it while we were gone all day. We left the house early in the morning and returned early evening. There was still no hot water. I reached out and explained we needed to shower so therefore we’d have to leave and get a hotel in order to do so. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem. I requested a refund for the last night considering we could not physically stay there. They corresponded with me and said, “Absolutely! No problem. We will refund the last night…” I reached out days later about not receiving the refund. They told me, “It looks like it’s processing and you should be receiving a confirmation email…” I reached out again, and again…. This time I was ignored. I called VRBO customer service. They called the owner twice. The owner did not respond. VRBO emailed the owner in regards to this issue. They have not responded. I’m just a Mom who would like the $101.00 that’s owed to her for one night that had no hot water for us to bathe after a very long day in the Florida sun. Unbelievable.

Cozy Little Cottage with emphasis on little
The property is quaint and cozy, clean and somewhat spacious for a small spot. However, this property is an older property and it showed in a number of ways. For starters, the ceilings are no higher than 7' throughout the property except the kitchen and bathroom where it was maybe 7' 5" high. The living room and bedrooms had ceiling fans, but my friend and I who stayed are both above 6' tall so we were at eye level with the fans. Speaking of bedrooms, they list two bedrooms but in actuality it is one PRIVATE bedroom and one room with a bed and no door to make it private. This room was directly across the bathroom so anyone using the facilities would be able to see what you are doing in the room, and of course if they use it while sleeping you likely are now awake since there is no door to help keep the noise out. The bathroom floor around the toilet sometimes shakes a bit when flushing due to a likely issue with plumbing, and the hot water is SCAULDING HOT when used just a little bit. The location of the property is great being near the downtown area, and for what it's worth it isn't a bad place but there are better out there for the money. FYI This booking happened because VRBO/Travelocity messed up my actual booking (they listed a property that was delisted over 1.5months before I booked it and never let me know, the owner of that property did).

Good Stay
The cozy cottage serves it purpose for a place to stay. However, it is near a busy road and was a bit noisier than I had expected. One of the bedrooms does not have a door, which wasn't a huge inconvenience for us, but I did not realize this ahead of time. I did like having the owner right next door for any needs with the home. There is not a washer and dryer but a local laundry mat close by.

Sanford Cozy Cottage
Cottage was as advertised. Small, but certainly adequate. Beds were very comfortable. Nice location. Close to the Sanford Historical District. Dixon answered any question or need. When I asked him to check out the picnic table, he saw it needed replaced and brought in a new one within several days. If you are staying more than a week, be advised that there is no washer and dryer, so you will need to go to a laundromat. Also, storage in the kitchen is limited. We enjoyed our stay the month of February.

Great January Getaway!
We had plans to visit central Florida and spent two and a half weeks at this property. The property was very clean, comfortable and convenient. Enjoyed visiting attractions, dining and antiquing all over central Florida. Would definitely utilize this location in future.

We enjoyed our stay in this property. The location is perfect to explore downtown Sanford and the surrounding area. The cottage is as depicted on the listing and the fenced in yard well kept and much appreciated by our dog. The property was clean and provided all of the necessary basics. Cozy Cottage experience
