Quintessential Santa Barbara Architecture Close to Beach, Downtown & Funk Zone

*Featured in Condé Nast as one of best Airbnb's in California!* - an unsolicited review 😊

Red-tiled roof, charming 2/1 Spanish, 2 blks from The Wharf, Beach, Funk Zone & State St, modern, light, boutique-like flair. Walk to beach, Funk Zone, Downtown. Views of Riviera from living room. Meticulous, tasteful/understated decor, luxurious bedding, fully stocked & great amenities! One of the best Airbnb’s you will experience. Please read details carefully.
The space
If you are as particular as I am about where you stay, maybe this is the place for you.

What makes it special are location, natural light, style, cleanliness and luxurious linens and amenities. I take great care to provide you with the cleanest, softest white linens so that you know you are no hidden stains. The house also provides a high end kitchen, comfortable beds, and every amenity you might need including a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom, beach chairs, towels, toys and even flip flops.

If you prefer the services and style of boutique hotels with unique, sophisticated decor over the standard options, this may be your choice. Style is like the Biltmore meets the Kimpton hotel group.

Inspired by some places I have visited (Amangiri, The Boathouse at Mankas), my goal was to offer a place that I would be happy to stay in...

A place that is drenched with natural light and good energy, a space that is sophisticated but simple, modern but warm, very clean and very comfortable, and most importantly... inspiring.

Built by the renowned Spanish Style architect Alex D'Alfonso, this home retains all of the charm that makes it quintessentially Santa Barbara, but was tastefully upgraded and remodeled with modern furnishings and amenities to make it bright, functional and comfortable.

The home is well appointed and includes a gourmet kitchen, heated tile bathroom floors, soft luxurious bedding and down comforters, new beds, Apple TV, Netflix, Wifi, and high-end appliances including washer and dryer. No need to bring hair dryer, iron, first aid, etc. All stocked. :-)

**Also if there are any sensitivities, please let me know in advance. I try to accommodate as much as possible. Although they enjoyed their stay and said they want to return, I was recently surprised by a guest complaining about scent even thought candles and scent was mild and minimal. I guess you can be perfect for everyone (but I try) :-)

I look forward to hosting you and hope to inspire you during your visit to Santa Barbara.

Bedroom arrangements:
1 King bed in front bedroom and
1 queen bed in back bedroom.

Santa Barbara Friends Getaway
This house has a great location, walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops and just a few minutes from the beach. The beds were very comfortable and the house had everything you need for stay. We happened to stay during a heat wave and found that it took quite awhile for the PLUG- IN AC to cool place off. The owner also requested us to turn this off while we were not in the home, texting us about it during our stay to remind us. This was a little frustrating as we booked this home because it stated it had AC. Overall if not there during a heatwave it would have been a better experience.

Location Location Location
This property is absolutely lovely but the biggest selling point is the location. It's an incredibly short walk to State Street, the beach, Funk Zone, etc. and the host provides a parking pass so you can park in front of the house. I would definitely book this location again!

Cute little spot
Myself and two friends decided to go to Santa Barbara for a little getaway! The house was cute and in a great location!! There were a few things that were not present but was listed as being there. Example: It states that there is a hot tub and there is not!* (not sure if the Owner thinks a bathtub inside is a hot tub or not?) Pretty difficult to get the TV apps to work. Also, the owner lives in the back house (we ran into her late at night. Definitely scared us but she's very nice!) so if that bothers you than I would keep that in mind. Communication lagged. I didn't get any information and I finally had to call the owner to see if our visit was still a go. I also had to text her the next day about 2-3 hours before check in to remind her to send me the details. All in all, it was a good spot. Just little things that could have made our trip more enjoyable.

Nice House in a Great Location
The property was as described on a quiet street and was very tastefully decorated with nice fixtures, appliances and amenities. The location was great - easy to walk to restaurants on lower State, the Funk Zone or down to the beach. It was only a block away from the train station but never really heard any noise from the train. Nice rental overall.

4 days in Santa Barbara
The listing is accurate and as described. The house is vintage with updates and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is small and lacks counter space but the vintage tile is nice. Adding a small table to the bathroom would definitely help. As an older traveler, I would suggest adding a grab bar in the shower to assist in getting in/out of the high tub, and removing or anchoring the throw rugs in the house. The location of this house is both good and bad. It is very walkable to downtown, the beach, and the Funk Zone, but is close to the Amtrak station and a youth hostel. The trains run often. If you are taking the train, great. If not, it can be an annoyance. If you are driving, there is no parking spot provided and you have to juggle street sweeping and weekend restrictions. The patio was nice for relaxing after a day of walking the city. Overall, the house is enjoyable.

Great Location, Great Stay
We enjoyed the ease of check-in/out and being able to bike and walk to all of our favorite places. The home was well-appointed and had everything we needed. The location couldn't be better. The train is pretty close, so we would just recommend bringing a little sound machine. We would definitely stay her again!

Lovely house in a great location
We had a really lovely stay here. The home was comfortable with everything we needed and was walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shopping and more strenuous hikes. It was really an ideal spot for anyone looking to be close to everything. Kathy was a wonderful host. She was super responsive and helpful during our entire stay without being at all intrusive.
