What a beautiful region & remarkable home! My family of 4 spent two weeks in this city’s most enchanting, most photographed medieval cottage & loved our stay. The home is quiet at night, beds were comfortable, washer & toilet on ground floor were convenient & fans for cooling were provided. We enjoyed the small patio for morning coffee & it was so nice to step out the door & have all of Sarlat at our feet. Or within 15 minutes be in another perfectly preserved voted ‘most beautiful’ medieval village. Our gracious host Jacqueline & her English speaking daughter, Lea, personally met us at the top of the street where it’s very easy to offload your luggage & park free overnight. Longer term free parking info was given & it’s just a short diagonal walk across the park. Jacqueline & her daughter Lea were available if we needed anything & are both lovely warm people. Do read their booklet for top spots, etc. We did mostly everything on it.
More Tips:
* Do not miss Beynac, park at the castle, visit, then walk down through the village & let the fittest one retrieve the car. ;)
* Domme: park at the very top- do the Grotto tour underneath the visitor center.
* Canoe: we can recommend Canoe Loisirs
* Chateau Milandes: Falconry show
* Sarlat’s market days were terrific. The mini Casino for everything else is a few minutes walk away or the large Carrefour nearby.
Thank you again Jacqueline & Lea, we had a wonderful time!
