The place was nice and in a good part of town. The bar also had an excellent Bloody Mary. But there was some disorganization with the staff and confusion about the room that lowered my rating. Plus the night valet couldn’t drive my car so I had to pay full price to park it myself.

I loved my stay. Best location and the hotel was great. The only issue (which is small) I called before I booked and wanted a hotel with a heated pool. They said they had a heated pool but when I arrived the pool was freezing and they said they do not have a heated pool.

The Desoto - Great location and vibe.
This was my fourth stay at The Desoto. The location is perfect. The rooms are a bit banged up, but clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The DeSoto, where I have stayed 10 times over the last decade, is an iconic hotel in a great location. However, the hotel is in drastic need of an update. Doors are peeling, balcony supports are rusting out, and there was a lot of long, female hair on the floor. It’s a great location and has a nice lobby and restaurant and bar, but looks more like a 2-3 star hotel than anything. Also I hope the hair in the room was an exception. I’d stay here again but would need to be at lower than regular Savannah prices

We had a wonderful stay at the DeSoto and cannot wait to visit Savannah again! Highly recommend this hotel and its convenient location in the heart of the city. We could walk anywhere in under 15 minutes it was perfect. Every staff member we met was kind and made things so welcoming

For over $300 a night I expected more. Our room was never serviced. The bathroom furniture and room furniture were tired looking. The shower pressure would come and go down to a dribble. When the pressure would return it would be scalding hot. The faucet in the shower was also about to come off. The best part of the room was the view but the window was quite dirty. If the price was half of what it was I wouldn't be annoyed.

Front desk staff were wonderful. The room was a standard hotel room. Great views though. The plumbing was very loud from the rooms above us. Valet did get pen on the center armrest of our car, which we noticed after we left. :/ Overall, it was a nice stay, but would probably stay elsewhere next time.

We visit Savannah frequently but first time at this property. Excellent location. Room was small for an executive king but bed was comfortable. A little dated. A mirror over the additional sink in the bedroom vs a picture would have allowed two guests to get ready at the same time. And USB ports on both sides of the bed would be a plus

I love rhe ambiance surrounding this hotel...Rooms were cleans and very spacious. Dinner options were all within walking distance. Only thing i didn't like was that the black out curtains weren't retractable. Sleeping with the city light visible was a little hard for me since i like my room dark for sleeping. This also led to me waking up early because of the sun seeping into my room early..Apart from that i give this hotel a 10 out of 10

Staff was ok. The people working the kiosk for coffee and snacks did not care if you were there or not. Room looked clean, bed comfy, no bedbugs, but mattress had a little mold on it- but it’s in moist Savannah. The hot water thing for coffee didn’t work, no fridge for leftovers, ceiling and walls marked up, but we were actually satisfied because we were hardly in the room except to sleep.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities
Great location. The bartenders were great. That is why I rated overall two stars, otherwise it would be one. The place is filthy. The people at the front desk are clueless. There was mold on sliding glass doors. Housing keeping is a disaster. Look elsewhere.
