Private Dipping Pool. Ocean Views. (Casita #4)

Casitas Del Mar unit #4 is a large, beautifully styled home with a spectacular Ocean View and private pool also with an ocean view. Designed by an award winning architect this lovely Casita has everything you want and more. Marble floors throughout makes this a unique romantic getaway. Spectacular Ocean views from the living room, balcony and bedroom.

Sayulita topography is hilly. It descends down into the village and beach which is flat. To get a great view of the ocean or jungle you either have to climb a hill, or be on the ocean front which is much more expensive. My casas are up a short (50 meter) but steep driveway. If you have disabilities that make walking difficult this is probably not the right place for you. They overlook the village below and the ocean beyond. We are right in the village but above it. You can walk to the village or beach in 5 minutes. Because of the height, you have a sweeping view of the ocean and always a fresh breeze coming off the ocean. That is what makes it worth the walk up the hill.

I live in a mixed neighborhood of American and Mexican nationals. Sayulita is a festive and noisy village. There are always fiestas, music, and parades. Since Covid ended we have an influx of highly accomplished musicians from a bar close by, you will hear some of the best jazz, blues, salsa, and rock. On the weekends they crank up the music louder. If you are a light sleeper or need to block out the sound, bring ear plugs, or you can use a white noise fan aid from YouTube. If your earphones connect to the smart phone, the white noise fan should solve the problem. The great majority of guests are not bothered by the sounds of Sayulita.

My casas are constructed with organic and traditional Mexican architecture in mind. From marble and vintage tile, or clay tile floors to palapa roofs (depending which casa).

When I am here you may always text me or stop in to ask questions or seek help. When I am out of town my property manager, Jose is here to help. Please let us know when you need more purified water, toilet paper, soap, or garbage bags.

I loved where we stayed. Jose Manuel was so sweet. The view was amazing especially with the lightning storms we got to watch from our balcony. Loved dipping in the pool to cool off when we got home. Kinda fell in love with a neighbors kitty. She is so sweet. The hill is a little bit of a workout but we got a golf cart which made it fun.

My husband and I stayed here for a week. It was absolutely lovely. Like others have said- there is a bit of noise and hill to climb to get to the house. The hill is quite steep but does have some stairs so it’s not too bad! The music is loud at night but we just played some music to go to bed. The private pool is delightful and the house has everything you could need. If staying in Sayulita this is a great property and so close to the main town square but far enough out of the business that you feel at peace!

We loved staying here! The listing was spot on. We were prepared to walk the hill every time we left the house and by the time our stay was over we could walk it no problem. Having everything within walking distance was awesome. The pool gets some sun between 1-4 and warms it up. We spent most of our time in the loungers on the covered patio taking in the views! The house never got too hot, but we did close the bedroom door and run the a/c in the room at night to stay comfortable. We tried several restaurants that Greg said were his favorite and they did not disappoint! Highly recommend staying here and we will definitely book again next time we are in the area.

This message is about Greg, the VRBO owner, rather than about his place where I never ended up staying. To make a long story short, I was considering booking his place for a cousins wedding in San Pancho, 15 minutes north. By mistake I pressed something and VRBO said "you're booked"! I was not ready to book as I was considering places closer to the wedding location in San Pancho. I instantly messaged Greg that my booking was a mistake and requested to cancel. Greg missed the message as can happen in life. 5 months later, I was charged in full as if I had stayed and I got a VRBO message "how was your stay?". I contacted Greg and he reversed the charge and reimbursed me in full. Not something you want to happen as a VRBO owner, but Greg was honest and came through. Hope to stay at his place one fine day! It looks beautiful in a great location!

Sayulita is a beautiful, lively town. The accommodations were wonderful. We loved having the tiny pool directly outside of the bedroom. The views of the town and the beach made it extra special. We would highly recommend staying! Just bare in mind, that it is at the top of a steep hill and your calves will be burning.

This property is gorgeous!I love that there’s no kids allowed. The walk up the hill is a great workout, you’ll get used to it. The mattress is VERY hard, like bring a foam sheet or something it’s a rock. The view is gorgeous, the amenities inside are amazing, everything you need! The shower doesn’t have any ledge so water goes everywhere, besides those few fixes it’s a 10/10.

The casita is great!
There are SO many wonderful things to say about the casita! Greg and his staff are kind and super easy to communicate with. They were happy to help when/if needed. Obviously, as folks have mentioned, the view a from the patio is amazing. We spent lots of time there. The place is clean and the bed is comfy! The pool is nice and the tortoises are sweet. (They loved our compost!) There are many artistic touches, both in the casita and on the property. We made the climb to the casita a few times each day, and it was a good workout;) There were a couple of detractors- The noise from the music at night was disturbing and ear plugs didn’t help much, but we’re old and sleep is a big deal. It was EVERY night, and went til 2am sometimes. The cocina is cute, but needs little things to make it way better: a corkscrew, for sure. The lid on the pot we used was broken. Still, much more positive than negative!! Thanks for sharing, Greg.

Amazing view. Great little house. Super private. We would definitely rent this place again. Very short walk to the center of town but far enough away to get out of some of the excitement(it is at the top of a very large hill so if you have any mobility challenges you should certainly consider that)

Beautiful casita and the owner Greg was great! Located right in town. So if you want a quiet stay this is not the location for you as Sayulita is a lively town. Casita does need some minor repairs. We decided to get a golf cart to see more of the town and bypass all the steep hills. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you

Wonderful!
Thanks so much, Greg, for your amazing place! Jose was just great and always there for us when we needed anything. We loved our unit and never wanted to leave! The high ceilings and spectacular views from every room, the great deck overlooking the entire town and bay, the fabulous iguanas visiting us every day, along with eagles and even a Tijon came by to peer in our kitchen windows. The giant turtles are a treat and the pool with the colorful lights and waterfall was awesome! Definitely a very steep hill to climb up and down, but so great that it’s only a 4 minute walk to town and the beach. We couldn’t imagine a more wonderful place to stay in Sayulita!

Beautiful quiet Oasis
Greg was an amazing host with very spacious accommodations. The place was very nice, and the landscaping was great. It was a great little oasis to escape Sayulita when you wanted to relax. We loved the pool, and the tortoises. I would definitely come stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely casitas. Well-appointed, clean, and a fantastic balcony with town and ocean view. Five minute walk to beach and downtown. Located at the top of a very steep (short) road--but it is on the top of the hill so you have a fabulous view! Sweet pool as well. Jose, the caretaker was lovely and super helpful as well. Greg is quick to respond to emails and phone calls (particularly when we were dropped off on the wrong hill by our Uber driver--thank you Greg for helping us out!). We will definitely love to return!

This is a fantastic property!
We were "wowed" from the first with this cool property. Our view of the town and beach and beyond was much better than we expected. Casitas del Mar was an interesting property with multi levels, a nice pool, and excellent vistas. Greg was a great host. Sayulita proved to be a charming yet fun destination. Yes, the hike up to the casita is a challenge.

Charming casita with lovely distant views of the ocean off the balcony. Steep hill to entrance. Many taxi and delivery drivers can't find the address. Upon arrival, safe was not working but fixed right away. Freezer did not work so had to replenish ice daily. Only a few glasses. No tequila shot glasses or margarita glasses. Otherwise kitchen fairly well stocked. No beach chairs/towels. Glass doors to balcony are cumbersome to open and close. The 2 chairs on balcony were in poor condition. Lounge chairs were awesome! Could use some updating overall. Property manager, Jose, was very responsive and helpful. Wi-Fi worked well. Comfortable for 2 persons.

We loved the cute casita with a spectacular view from the patio. We found the hill to the house a good walking workout. Only drawback of staying so close to the plaza was the late night, into-the-morning music from the bars.

Beautiful views, convenient location
Greg was a wonderful host, giving us plenty of privacy but also being extremely prompt with message responses. He takes great care of his property and his guests. The home itself if beautiful and has exactly what you need for a stay in Sayulita. We felt that we were even closer to town & the beach than advertised but really felt like we were in our own little world when we escaped to the balcony. Would highly recommend this spot!

Perfect location and awesome ocean view
This was my first time to Sayulita. I decided to book this property based on the proximity to everything, the price, and the reviews. The photos don't do this place justice. We we're very impressed with the property. The view off the balcony is awesome. The welcome basket was a nice touch. The property is well maintained and we loved the Mexican architecture. We felt very safe our entire stay. Everything was within walking distance. The hill is steep, but we just considered it part of our daily workout. We didn't run into Greg while were there. We didn't have any issues, so we really didn't need to contact him either. We had a lot of good meals in town which included some of Greg's recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!

Great vacation!
This is a great place to stay in Sayulita. The apartment is comfortable and you have a great over view of the community. The hill up is extremely steep so if you aren't in the best shape (like myself) I'd recommend a golf cart or car rental. I just parked my car at the bottom of the hill and then walked everywhere. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of beach equipment. Other VRBO rentals that I've stayed at near the ocean have beach chairs, umbrella, and even a small ice chest. I had to rent chairs and umbrellas from a local company for the week. Another negative is that the maid never did clean our apartment during the time we were there. Greg is helpful and we enjoyed meeting Luna and Wally (the neighbor's dogs). This place is best for couples without children.

Amazing breeze and view
We stayed at Casa Los Perros from March 18 to March 29, 2017. The casa is really well located, 5-7 minutes walk to town and ocean. What I loved the most about this place is the nice breeze it gets from the good air circulation. The unit is well equiped with air conditionning but we rarely had to turn it on due to the superbe ocean breeze. We were travelling with our 16 year old daughter so Greg installed a blow up bed in the living room, which was comfortable. The king bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable. Every morning we ate breakfast on the balcony while enjoying the amazing view. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to cook food and make fresh orange juice! We bought our fresh fruits and vegetables from a little produce store down the road. Bottled water is also provided. The only warnings I would mention are: 1- The hill: Yes it is a steep hill and can be intimidating at first, we are a fit family so it was not an issue for us but would not recommend it if someone has mobility issues. It's a trade off for the amazing view. 2- The noise: Sayulita is a busy town with a lot of things to do at any time of the day and night. Every night we needed to sleep with ear plugs due to the sound coming from the bars and fiestas downtown. It's a trade off for the proximity to everything. Greg is an amazing host, he was respectful of our privacy while never being too far if we had any questions.
