Our midnight check in was marred by my credit card not registering on the computer. The person handling our check in would not allow for my daughter to pay for our total stay on her credit card so we could go to bed with the operator saying he could not accept any other card except the one which the booking was made. After phoning Australia and confirming that the card had no "stops" or reason for not working, the operator still would not allow payment by other means. Eventually he moved onto another computer and Bingo, my payment was approved. So more than a hour of unnecessary stress placed on two senior citizens and it was nearly 2 am before we eventually got to bed through no fault of our own. Our friend who was also staying at the the hotel had her jewellery stolen which was later recovered which made us wary of leaving anything out in our room including hanging clothes, toiletries etc. Not a good feeling for a hotel with such a good reputation.
