Serene Views in Cozy Cabin
Upon arrival, we were impressed by the beautiful landscapes. The cabin itself was clean and modern. From the central space, one window offered a view of Icelandic horses. The other was nearly floor to ceiling where we caught sight of the Northern Lights. Renate was quick to respond and help us when we reached out. The guidebook in the cottage has helpful information as well. The cottage is in good proximity to Reykjavik and close to Ring Road for those planning to drive it. If you’re looking to escape to a slice of natural paradise, I highly recommend staying here- we had an amazing time!

Wonderful stay
My only wish was that we got to stay longer! We absolutely loved our stay in the cabin. The location near the river was amazing- I couldn’t pull myself away from the view on the front porch and out of the front windows. The check in process was extremely easy and the host was amazing. Very clean and had everything we needed! We will recommend the cabins as a must-stay location to any friends who want to visit Iceland.

Perfectly cozy
Overall a beautiful picturesque property with all the details to make a very special experience in the Icelandic countryside. The experience of seeing the Aurora from the front porch could not have been more stunning. We originally thought this space had two bedrooms as listed but the second bedroom describes the living/dinning/kitchen where there is a pull out couch. My family of 5 needed a little time to get use to the close quarters but the space is layer out so well to make it quite comfortable and cozy. I especially appreciate Renate offering to bring down a fold out cot to make the sleeping arrangements more comfortable. We all slept well and had a great stay.

Wonderful!
A friend and I planned to visit Iceland for a week, focusing on the southern part of the country. We decided to stay in one spot and do day trips, and we settled on this cottage. We wanted a place in the country away from city or town lights, but still not too far from civilization. The cottage was perfect! It is small but comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed to prepare breakfast and a packed lunch. The beds are comfortable and we slept soundly, even on very windy nights. (It can get quite windy in Iceland but the cottage was free of drafts or cold spots.) Renate, our host, was very responsive to my questions, and provided helpful information. The view from the cottage is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sheep! We were able to easily visit Reykjavik, sights on the Golden Circle, waterfalls on the way to Vik, and Vestmannaeyjabær (the Westman Islands). Selfoss is just about 30 minutes away, so handy for groceries and restaurants. To sum up, the location is great and the cottage is comfortable and clean with an excellent host! I highly recommend it.

Perfect little house with lovely views
I loved staying in this impeccably maintained house filled with light from windows on every side looking out out on pastures of grazing horses and sheep. Excellent location to explore the south coast within easy distance of sites, markets and restaurants. Renate was very responsive to every inquiry and left nothing wanting. We will be back and will plan a ride on some of their beautiful ponies. Overal- just love

Beautiful cottage
The cottage was so clean and cozy! The location is absolutely stunning. If you want to keep an eye out for the northern lights you can do so right from the comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future!

Great views, great location, comfortable efficient cabin
This is a little cabin that uses the space very efficiently -- the four of us (two adults and two teenagers) fit there very comfortably. The cabin is completely new and has every convenience (even a dishwasher). There is good wi-fi. The best thing about it is the views -- wide fields with sheep, and we could see the aurora literally from the beds. The location also is very convenient for day trips to spots in the south of Iceland.

Beautiful views and great location
The property is located on a family farm between a river and a lake. My family of 5 enjoyed the stay immensely. We loved the views out our window, waking up to the sounds of sheep and birds. It was a great location for us as it’s not far from the golden circle and an easy drive to Skogafoss. Overall, we had a great time. It worked out for our family of 5 and accommodations are cozy. Renate is very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful Cabin
Beautiful surroundings, comfortable beds, spacious. Perfect place to see the Northern Lights, you can even watch them from your bed. Loved having the sheep as our neighbors. Renate was so helpful when our GPS was having trouble. So relaxing can’t wait to come and stay again.

Lovely rural cabin
We had a great stay in this cosy, warm cabin with its views over fields and a river. The cabin is well equipped, fresh and clean with comfortable beds. Renate was easy to contact and very warm and welcoming. Her husband had to rescue us when we arrived as we took a wrong turn to the cabin and got stuck in snow! The turnoff to the 2 cabins is 100m or so further down the road from the farm turnoff. Beautiful views of stars at night with clearest views of constellations imaginable. We were one couple. Would be fine for 2 couples and a slight squeeze for 6. A 4 wheel drive car would be recommended especially in winter. Can highly recommend the cabin, the location (great for Golden Circle and south coast) and Renate!

Clean, comfortable, and private.
Wonderful place to stay in the South. We used the property as a base for exploring the Golden Circle, the Westman Islands, and part of the South Coast. Easily accessible with great hosts and neighbours (sheep and horses). This is a beautiful location in the quiet country.
