I chose this property because of the reasonable price compared to other hotels closer to the centre of town and was relieved on arrival to see that it was so nice. This hotel is just a few steps from a subway station on Line 4 which affords easy access to Seoul Station and other lines. The area is busy but safe. The hotel itself was very nice indeed and the staff were lovely (they arranged a taxi for us from the cruise port to the hotel when I requested it by email/Experdia message, and also arranged for the taxi to the airport after our stay). We had the breakfast buffet most days and it was good - a mix of Korean and Western, including noodles, fried chicken, bulgogi, soups, cereals. The food was warm rather than hot - everything was in chafing dishes, but the lids were mostly up, with lamps above. There's a dinner buffet only on Saturdays. We really enjoyed our stay at the Arirang Hill Hotel and would recommend it.

The worst hotel I have stayed in in years. The staff was so unfriendly, so much that I found them rude most of the time. You expect Korea to be a polite society, not here. Just curt orders from the front desk, no pleasantries, no effort to help. We asked for a restaurant recommendation the first night… just go outside we were told and look around. No effort, they don’t care. Last night we get back from sightseeing late and the room isn’t made up. Call down and was told housekeeping had left for the day. I said, they didn’t make up the room. They said they will get it tomorrow, I said I am checking out in the morning. They send two front desk workers who walk in with a bag with towels and some water and processed to criticize how messy the room is and use that as the reason the housekeeper didn’t make up the room. I said, I just needed the bed made, the trash emptied and the basically empty bathroom made up. They discuss in Korean for 2 minutes while we stand there awkwardly waiting and then say, the room is too messy and I say, just leave the towels and water. Ridiculous! DO NOT stay here.
