Very charming retro hotel with excellent heck in experience! I would recommend this place to anyone coming through the area. The check in gentleman was so kind with me arriving later than anticipated. They even had a fresh cold water in the fridge waiting for me.

A very good host (Aaron) who is taking care of his guests. Clean room and safe surroundings. Me and my dad received both an upgrade to a bigger room! Very fair pricing and water is also provided in the room. Breakfast offers some selection. One of the best motels we stayed in on Route 66. Much recommended!

An older motel, still, considering the price (>$50 per night) I had a very clean room and was more comfortable than expected. Breakfast was not much (though hot oatmeal a surprise). The reception was pleasant. A rough gem.

It is very clear that the owner, Arron, takes a huge amount of pride in his motel, and it is so refreshing to see. My husband booked it based on the ratings on Expedia, but I have not stayed at many motels, so I was a bit nervous. That vanished as soon as I walked to the front desk. Arron has paid so much attention to every detail. He is extremely sweet, the rooms are large and very clean. The room had all of the things you would expect from a large chain hotel: a mini fridge, a microwave, small coffee pot, a safe, and table and two chairs, and a nice sized tv. The bathroom had original 50s pink tile and the green bathtub that has been scrubbed with a fine tooth comb. It was so charming. I really enjoyed talking to Arron about how he bought the place and brought it back to life. He is living proof that the American dream is still alive. Staying at his inn has added to our drive across this great nation, and we will not forget him. If you ever drive the historic Route 66 through Texas, be sure to stay with Arron at Shamrock Country Inn.

Great to see this old Route 66 motel still in operation. The rooms are much nicer than the outside suggests. Areas in need of improvement include the outside appearance and the service. On the outside give the building some needed repairs and a new paint job, plant a few trees and plant a cactus garden! Also, the whole business model for a motel on Route 66 is to provide a nostalgic experience. Switch the name back to Bronco Motel and take some time to talk with the guests with a new sign and give them some information on Route 66 in Shamrock. Without the Route 66 connection, the motel as is, is just a dated, rundown relic from the 1970s.

The room smelled so HORRIBLE. It was nauseating . Time to change out that carpet. The man at the desk was super friendly and polite but I have no idea why they have such good reviews when the room so disgusting

What a wonderful place. Its furnishings are a step back in time but it’s great for all the right reasons. The proprietor was friendly, professional, and polite. While it’s older it’s meticulously clean, very safe and oh so quiet. We were next door to the breakfast area and she apparent thick walls didn’t allow any sound in. Thanks for a great night’s sleep. We have stayed before and will definitely stay here again.

Highly recommended. Great place for a night or however you want to stay. Super clean, comfortable beds, loved the retro style and colors. Convenient to everything in Shamrock. Management super friendly and helpful. Didn’t try the breakfast but it really smelled good when I walked by.
