I had specially booked a room on the club level because I wanted to use the beautiful club lounge. Unfortunately, this was not available as it was exclusive to the government. There was no information about this in advance, so I booked and paid for something I couldn't use. The sauna area is getting on in years and not in the condition you would expect in a hotel of this class. The relax loungers in the sauna area were the most uncomfortable loungers I have ever lain on. Club lounge and spa were the two main reasons for booking at the hotel, unfortunately unsatisfactory. The massage in the spa area was excellent.

I just left, but would be back soon!
Took few days off to relax and connect with friends and chose the Grand Kempinski as a recommendation from a good friend. I was not disappointed 😉 The service is very good and the staff is friendly at all their facilities... The breakfast buffet has a great variety from fresh fruits, to pastry, classic and tasty omelette also vegetables, congee and noodles for to those catering to the Asian taste... The pool, spa and gym area enjoy beautiful views of the Pearl tower, the Huangpu river and other sights of Pudong! The Havana bar on the 30th floor is amazing for early evening drinks or night cap, great music, expansive views and friendly staff. I loved the breakfast buffet because of the wide variety and grrt quality of the food. I also enjoyed the location. We wanted to stay near the Oriental Pearl Tower and this was a perfect 5 minute walk away with great access to shops and fun things along the way!
