Staying in a permanently docked ship is an out of the ordinary novelty. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Bed is firm, but not too firm. Being in the heart of Sea World is convenient. Enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch, Mexican dinner, Starbucks expresso, then some live music at "meeting Jazz". Lots of food choices here in Sea World. Looking forward to a western breakfast tomorrow onboard. I would stay again, my wife would too if I book a room with a larger window instead of a small port hole (Oops).

Fun hotel for a night or two

Moved to the larger room with 2 big windows and a view of the water show. Small basic room has only a porthole but was comfortable. Room is very dated and could use a refresh. Bath is nice for a soak but poorly designed as a shower. Service is excellent, breakfast buffet is good value. Location involves a short walk but it’s in the heart of a lively restaurant and shopping area. And you’re on a ship!

Set sail for a 3.5 star experience

Overall it was OK. The rooms are noisy. You can hear people talking in the hall. The AC control put the room at 17C no matter what it was set at. I put it to 26C, and the room temp was still 17C. I eventually turned it off to get warm, but then the room got hot. I rented two rooms, and the other room had the same problem. The bathroom was really small, but on the plus side, the sleeping area was roomy, clean, and comfortable. Good WiFi and good location. I've stayed in better hotels in the area for around the same price, so I probably wouldn't book again. I just wanted to check the novelty of being in a ship.

Stay here. It's a very worthwhile experience.

Yup, this place is amazing. *Great* location at Shenzhen's Shekou Sea World (not connected to the American "seaworld" fish zoos, at all). The rooms on this converted and now land-locked cruise ship are entertaining, ultra comfortable, and well-priced (as in very reasonable, especially for what you get). The service is fully professional and very friendly, and the breakfast buffet is worth staying for. Close to transportation/subway, too.

If you are from the West, then this is THE hotel!

Any westerners visiting Shenzhen then this is the hotel to book. Sea World is the Metro station near to the hotel and gets you to all (or most) parts of Shenzhen easily and cheaply. Plus there are many Western restaurants in the Sea World area including a nightly light and water fountain show - just like Las Vegas!!

I will return to hotel but not through Expedia

I have stayed at this hotel before and will stay here again as it has a funky, unique design in a good location. I needed to change a two-day reservation to one day. The hotel agreed to let me make the change but Expedia would not, so I had to pay for an unused second day. Given all the other options for booking a room, I will not use Expedia again.

Beds too hard!

Good place to stop on business with a local western feel, but the beds are so old and rock hard, The mattresses were basically just mattress toppers so had to use the quilt and topper off the other bed to make it bare able

Great overall experience. The hotel staff was awesome - very friendly and willing to help in any way that they could. The beds were hard...being pregnant this is rough. The rooms did smell a bit funky too, but they brought in a machine to help take the smell out.

The rooms are just ok. For the price and location it's a good deal. The beds are hard, the room I had came with only a shower. It's an old boat with 7 floors. Also the room came with breakfast. Which was ok. The restaurant on the boat you can sit inside or outside. The view was great and at certain times there was a light & water display. The location is great. Right in the middle of SeaWorld. Everything u want is right around u. Lots of restaurants and entertainment even a mall. You have to check the Night Club & Restaurant "The Terrace".

Western style food and drink a plenty locally

Perfect location for a guy on business who wants plenty to do in the evenings with regards to food and drink western style. Shekou sea world has a nice feel and is easy to get to direct from the airport.

Stayed here in 3 occasions, good clean place to stay and economical, walk straight out the front door and you are in a haven of restaurants, bars and great night time atmosphere! Easy taxi ride from ferry terminal and right next to the underground train station that will take you tonShenzhen and beyond! Enjoy
