Charming 2 Br Flat In City Center Siena Close To Piazza Del Campo

This cosy two bedroom apartment is located in the historic city center of Siena (inside the city walls) approximately 300 meters distant from „Piazza del Campo“.

The apartment is on the third floor of a small typical, ancient Senese town house built in the 16 th century. The street of the apartment is one of those classical medieval streets which are typical for Siena and is inhabited only by Senese residents. Staying in this „contrada“ you may feel like being Senese instead of being tourist.

All the main attractions of the historic centre are within walking distance, so you do not need a car. In case you come by train or bus you may take a taxi which is just a 5 to 10 minutes drive to get to our place.

If you come with your own car you can leave it at the public car park „San Francesco“ which is just a 5 minutes walk away. Escalators bring you comfortably close to the parking as well as to the bus stop of local shuttle bus.

The bus terminal of „Via La Lizza“ is just a 4 minutes walk. Frequent bus services to multiple places in Tuscany and to many destinations in Italy (Rome airport, Milan, Naples, etc) are offered from there. So you can reach nearly any city in Tuscany or Italy by bus.

The apartment has been recently renovated maintaining the typical Senese style of the medieval beamed ceilings, geniune „cotto“ floor tiles and doors traditionally made of red chestnut wood. It is furnished with typical tuscan antique furniture to make you experience Siena at it's best.

This apartment is ideal for 2 to 3 people and is composed by

a living room with fully equipped kitchenette and single sofa-bed (with perfect duckboard)
- a double bed room with king size bed
- a small room with one single bed (80 x 190) with roof -light
- a bath room with shower, toilette, washbasin

The apartment is an ideal base for a family of three people that want to experience life in this wonderfully preserved medieval city and may also want to discover its surroundings: Chianti, Val D’Orcia and many Tuscan cities.

Perfect place near all of Siena attractions
This place is a cute nest, perfect for two adults (possible to host a small child, 3 persons total). As shown on the pictures, fully equiped kitchen (with linen, soap for the dishes and more linen if needed). We had 3 nights. 30 minutes walking distance from the train station. Lots and lots of restaurants near, and small grocery stores as well. If we were to come back to Siena, we’d return at this apartment for sure.

We absolutely loved this apartment. The centuries old architecture was magnificent. While it states that the apt is on the 3rd floor, we weren't quite prepared for the 36 steep steps with 40 pound suitcases. It might be even more difficult for someone older. While we recognize that the electrical isn't 21st century, a coffepot was sorely missed. We would recommend this apt to anyone who is able to do the stairs and wants to immerse themselves in the Senese culture. We LOVED our stay!!

NOT FOR ADULTS stay clear of this deceptive listing
This home was lovely in theory, but they list the property as a TWO BEDROOM WHICH IT IS NOT!!!! It has one very uncomfortable bed in the “master suite” and then a Harry Potter esque loft that they lost as the second bedroom. However upon arrival they informed us that it was not fit for adults so they didn’t even put sheets on it! EVEN THOUGH WE REACHED OUT FOR CONFIRMATION OF THE ACCOMMODATIONS BEFORE WE LEFT USA! Unless you are a single traveler or a couple traveling with a small child THIS HOME IS NOT FOR YOU!!! I usually have great experiences with VRBO but this stay was a NIGHTMARE!!! I highly recommend staying at any of the other fantastic Siena accommodations! Steer clear of the deceptive listing!!

My Stay in Siena
My stay in Siena was entirely a positive one, thanks in a big part to the location of this apartment. The apt is off the beaten path on a quiet street, yet close enough to reach the Campo in 10-15 minutes. The apt which is tucked into the top floor of an old building and reached via narrow and steep stairs (as noted in the listing), is small but charming with an interesting layout. Plenty of hot water, I was happy to find, as well as fully-functional air conditioners in both rooms. The host met me at the apt as promised and was incredibly friendly and responsive to my emails when needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely apartment in a quiet neighborhood
The apartment was very comfortable and not far from the major sites; we walked everywhere. The neighborhood was very quiet, which was very welcome, after our time in Florence with much street noise at night. The bed was very comfortable and if it got too hot, the air conditioning cooled the room nicely. Check in was easy, as was communication with our host. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed during July Palio. Loved the medieval lodge decor of the apartment, and the location in the middle of Siena was great for walking everywhere. The check-in handler Sabine was very attentive and responsive. Drawbacks included one a/c unit (or two) that was not working, but Sabine brought in a fan which solved the issue well enough, and she said the recalcitrant a/c/ unit would be serviced at soonest opportunity.

Perfect location
We rented the apartment for the week to be our home base as we explored Siena and the Tuscany region. It was the perfect location near Piazza del Campo and was a short walk from where the bus route from Florence ends. It is small and charming with a few narrow flights of stairs to climb. The bed was very comfortable. One of the host’s restaurant recommendations was our best meal of the week, so take heed of her advice!

Great Place to stay!
This was a great location to stay while visiting Siena and other towns in the Tuscany area! We were close to the Piazza and Duomo! Erminia and staff were very helpful and provided much information on places to eat, shopping, etc. The apartment is cozy and was great for us! Despite lack of elevator (the only big disadvantage to property, the area is well located in this lovely city . The staff helped in check-in process, even helping us getting luggage to the room. The city is a wonderful place to visit and we hope to cme back soon for a longer stay , hopefully even get to see the Palio someday.

An Authentic Experience
The property is located in an actual Sienese neighborhood within the ancient city walls. It is within walking distance to everything. I think it is on the prettiest street in all of Siena. The neighborhood seemed perfectly safe even late at night and there were basically no tourists in the neighborhood. Looking out the window in the morning we saw the same little old lady walking to the grocery store each morning. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was quiet. The beamed ceilings and decor were beautiful. There are drawbacks to staying within the ancient city walls but I believe they far outweigh the positives. The negatives are the climb and the size of the bathroom. I would recommend the property to any couple looking for an authentic Siena experience.

We loved this charming apartment. The location was excellent and we felt a part of the Giraffa neighborhood. We were planning on using the small bedroom in addition to the main bedroom but the bedroom has a skylight so is very bright and hot. During non summer months, it might be fine but the description should be clearer as to its use. The owner was very gracious.
