Not a great experience.
There was hair in the sink. Bathroom was dirty. Decor was extremely old/outdated. Walls were stained/dirty. It was a nonsmoking room but it smelled like stale cigarettes. Lightbulbs were missing. Neughborhood seemed sketchy. Front desk was pleasant.

After a very stressful time at the airport, I arrived after a cancelled flight to an older man at the front desk who simply grunted at me. He gave me no information about the hotel, about the breakfast Iā€™d paid for. He didnā€™t speak to me. It felt very unwelcoming. The following morning, the breakfast was not edible- and I am not a fussy eater. I would not stay at a Howard Johnson again.

Toilet running the entire stay
We ended up getting there late on check and to be somewhere so we dropped our stuff off, freshened up and left. When we got back, the toilet was running which meant it had been running the whole time we were gone. It was too late to do anything at that time. We closed the bathroom door and I told the front desk in the morning. Needless to say when we got back later that night, the toilet was still running. Also, we did not have enough towels when we got to the room (only one wash cloth and one hand towel). We didn't notice until the morning.
