Welcome to Maine Street Penthouse, our historic oasis in the charming downtown of Spirit Lake, Idaho.

Dating to 1908, our penthouse is a lovely home base for adventures in town and among nature. Our light-filled interiors include cozy decor, antique pieces, an electric fireplace – and many lovingly remodeled spaces.

On the rooftop terrace, gather around the fire pit and enjoy painterly views of trees and hills beyond. We also have a BBQ grill and a sky full of stars.

The Space:
SPIRIT LAKE LOCATION
Maine Street Penthouse is tucked away in Spirit Lake, Idaho – in a handsome brick building that was built as the town bank in 1908. The old-world charm of Maine Street is just beyond our door, with the following establishments only steps away: Brickel Creek Coffee, Sondahl Pottery, Giorgi’s Burgers, Mi Pueblo Authentic Mexican and White Horse Saloon.

Walk to Spirit Lake where fishing, kayaking, boating and picnicking at Fireside Park await you. You can also explore hidden waterfalls and hike or bike along the Empire Trails system on the northern shore of the lake.

We are also 26 miles to Coeur d’Alene and 42 miles to Spokane, Washington.

ROOFTOP TERRACE
Enjoy the Idaho sun, snow and stars from the only rooftop terrace in downtown Spirit Lake – ours. Marvel at the beauty of alpine trees and rolling hills from our teal-hued Adirondack chairs after days exploring the great outdoors.

When dinnertime calls, how about grilling your fresh catch and eating al fresco? You may also like to sip craft beers or roast s’mores around the fire pit as the sunset fades into a sky of twinkling stars. For even more glow, our solar string lights are the perfect touch.

ENTRANCE
From the front door, walk up a flight of wooden stairs to reach our penthouse entrance.

LIVING ROOM & KITCHEN
An airy floor plan and high ceilings welcome you inside our penthouse along with picture windows that bring in sunlight. Unwind in the living room after days at the lake, either on our blue sectional sofa or club chairs by the window. Later in the evening, watching movies among the coziness of our electric fireplace is always a good idea.

Our kitchen is small – but mighty. You’ll have everything you need to cook light meals, including stainless steel appliances. An open shelf holds dishes and drinkware, including mugs handcrafted at Sondahl Pottery down the street. In the mornings, enjoy our coffee & tea bar which has a Keurig, K-Cup pods, creamer, sugar and tea bags. As a bonus, our eat-in table with a butcher block top doubles as meal prep space, all beneath the glow of an Edison light chandelier.

DESK AREA
An antique wooden desk off the kitchen sits at a window, and is a relaxing place to check email or work remotely. Glass cabinets with beautiful objects round out the home office feel here.

4 BEDS
We have one bedroom, yet four beds where you can sleep soundly. Our bedroom is spacious, with a gray tufted bed, nightstands with lamps, nature artwork and large windows with drapes. There are also blue club chairs and a spotlight floor lamp – plus a glass door that leads to the terrace.

2 BATHROOMS
In our full bathroom, enjoy a double vanity, large mirrors and a glass-enclosed shower. We also have a half bath with an emerald green vanity and hanging basket light. No need to bring shampoo, conditioner and body wash – we always have it stocked for you.

Guest Access:
You have private access to our penthouse and all amenities during your stay. You can access the house any time with our secure, keyless entry. We hope you make yourself at home!

Thank you for observing our quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. This ensures the peace of the neighborhood and our standing as courteous neighbors.

PARKING:
We offer free street parking for 2 vehicles.
