A Rustic Cabin With Breathtaking Missouri River Valley Views

This 3 bedroom + loft cabin overlooks the Missouri River Valley. It sits 150+ feet above the valley floor, on top of the chalk rock bluff. Perfect getaway for reunions, vacations, hunting trips or peaceful retreats with your family. Wake up to white tail deer grazing in the valley or wild turkey walking past the gigantic front deck. Prime hunting trips available for both turkey and deer, with local guides who know the area and best techniques. One mile down the road you will find a charming small town called St Helena, and Yankton, SD is only 20-25 min away which has all the large town amenities.

Heading west for a scenic drive in the Missouri River Valley to can find your way to the Gavin's Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake. There you will find fishing, boating, beaching and all other sorts of water and camping actives.

Please note that the driveway is a little steep as the house sits on top of a bluff. Usually front wheel drive cars do not have any problems, but if it rains or snows it can be tricky. If possible, try to bring four wheel drive vehicles.

Nice property
This is my 2nd time staying at this house,. I loved the house itself and the surrounding area. Keith was nice enough to let me bring my side by side to drive through the back area, was pretty fun since he has so much land. The only negative part was that it could use some pest control but I'm thinking that's because of the month (June) that I was there. I was there before that in september years before and there were no problems with bugs.

Getaway
Beautiful views and peace and quite is just what we needed. Our cabin was cozy with a nice large deck. Only negative was all the dead flies in the bedroom and living room.

Quiet Retreat
This property worked very well for us. We were in the area for an archery shoot in Yankton. Property was exactly as advertised. I was glad we had an SUV, driveway was a little steep, but had been graded and gravel/rocks put in to prevent mud on driveway. If you want peace and tranquillity, this is a great place. A short drive to Yankton for anything you might need. Had a great stay.

Weekend Of Softball
The owner was easy to communicate with and available. The GPS did not lead us directly to the property and at night it was difficult to find. They dropped a pin for us and we were able to find it. Over all the cabin is cute. There were a considerable about of critters around being in the woods that is to be expected but maybe a good bug bombing might help!

Just let me and my dogs needed for a weekend. Walking through the woods behind the house checking out all the land was pretty cool. Very close to Yankton.

Stuck with a view
Great place, the view is beautiful. Just make sure you have a Suv. I have a stow and go mini van which has very little clearance, got stuck trying to drive around the sharp corner in the driveway

The Quarry
The property was clean well equipped. It was peaceful beautiful scenery. The views were outstanding. The driveway off of the road was steep. We would recommend four wheel drive with ground clearance. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice cabin, but...
The cabin was wonderful, great view, quiet, secluded. However, if you don’t have an SUV good luck getting up the driveway. It hasn’t been maintained for quite some time and there are some pretty big ruts to maneuver around. The cabin was locked when we arrived and it was just by chance that our son happened to find the key stashed outside under the deck. The cabin looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for awhile. There was a broken clock on the counter with a note from the previous occupant which had been at least a month prior. The biggest issue was the driveway. It rained one of our nights there and getting up and down it the next morning was quite the adventure. Glad we brought our Dodge Journey and not our Toyota Yaris. But, given these things, the property is gorgeous and we did have a really nice stay. Yankton is close by with all the things you need in case you’ve forgotten something, and our boys spent everyday fishing on the river which is just a short drive away (one word of advice, don’t drive down a minimum maintainence road after a 2 inch rain).

Cabin In the Woods
Beautiful acreage, with a nice variety of deciduous and coniferous trees. Close enough to Yankton and Lewis and Clark. For it being very isolated, the property owners had the place very well stocked and clean, despite what is likely some pretty intense pest pressure from nearby fields and forest. Great property to retreat and relax.

Perfect Getaway
There were 5 of us from 15 to 62 and we had the best time. Everything we wanted to see or do at the lake was close enough we could go do that. Lying on the deck with family looking at the stars was the best and so beautiful. We hiked, we had fires, roasted marshmallows and felt truly rested after this vacation. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us that we might experience the surrounding woods, the wildlife and the peace. The cabin was clean, well stocked and we had so much room!!

Beautiful escape from the city
We absolutely loved our time here. Check-in was simple and easy, house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The views are incredible, we made sure to wake up for sunrise every morning. There's more than enough to do without leaving the property but Yankton was a short 15 minute drive away.

Rustic getaway, fantastic star gazing
We had a great stay at this cabin. The views from the bluff are stunning, the fire pit sublime and the star gazing is mesmerizing. The owners are incredibly kind and accommodating. The hill to get up to the cabin is a bit treacherous - especially when wet. I recommend using a truck or other 4-wheel drive vehicle. Our low to the ground minivan scraped bottom and had some difficulty getting up the hill a few times. Other than that the stay was great. The appliances are older (freezer doesn’t actually freeze anything), dishwasher and coffee maker are a bit finicky, but the cabin is fully stocked with dishes, towels, bug spray, toys for the kids, books, games and other things. Our group had a wonderful time here and enjoyed the fire pit every night as well as cooking on it each day. Thank you to the owners for a great stay!! We had a wonderful vacation!

Enjoyed our stay!!
We loved our stay, the cabin was comfortable and well stocked for cooking. Nice trails to hike and Beautiful view from the deck! The drive way was to steep and the gravel to loose to pull our RV up to the cabin and ended up having to leave it the end of the drive way. Would definitely stay here again, but would not recommend it for long campers or trailers.

Very nice place. Best part is how tucked away form everything it is. Some of the clearest stars I have seen in a long time. The cabin sits on a huge lot so there is hiking, wildlife, bonfire pit, and a view of the Missouri Valley and river. Loved it!!!

Better than I imagined!
My experience was amazing at this cabin! It was truly more amazing than I could have imagined. The price is great for what you get and it had the perfect location. My friends and I had a blast and would go back in a heartbeat! The owners are great people and easy to work with. Highly recommend this cabin if you're looking for a great weekend getaway.
