Great Stay for a Fun Getaway with Grandparents and Kids
My in-laws have been telling us for years how wonderful Mackinac Island and the surrounding area are. So when we flew out to visit them, we wanted to work in some time in Michigan. This listing was perfectly sized for our party of eight: one set of grandparents, my wife, me, and our 4 kids aged 5-10, and everyone loved the house and all of its ammenities. Our boys play hockey and were delighted to find the house had an air hockey table! The back porch was perfect for outdoor dining and the fire pit was perfect for s’mores and spooky stories. The house is a close walk to St. Ignace’s downtown and the lighthouse. In addition to being close to ferry terminals to get to Mackinac Island, the house isn’t too far from Tahquamenon Falls, the Great Lakes Shipwreck museum, or even a trip across the bridge to Mackinaw City and all the things to do over there. The house was clean, had pretty much all of the amenities we could have hoped for, and there was plenty of firewood in supply. All bedrooms are on the second level. The stairs to the second level were reported as “steep,” but my in-laws are in their 70’s. But points for the solid bannister and stair rail that helped out a good bit. The kids found the circa 1880’s creaky floors highly entertaining, particularly in the morning. All things considered, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would totally stay here again. We highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore the UP.

We realize that you only owned the house for 9 months & you are trying to quickly recoup...However: Anyone using the 2nd floor or stairs will wake other people up at night; bad squeaks, bedroom door bangs against the wall; no door stop, same bedroom: 1 door won't lock & other door won't unlock, the glass front door & the rear glass door need curtains for privacy/safety, we had 2 senior citizens; safety bars should be a must, the 2 shower floors/pans are very attractive but with a little soap become slippery; maybe non-skid mats or tape.

Fun Family Trip in the U.P.!
The house was clean and well furnished. It has a charming appeal to it! We were able to cook a few family meals in the house (kitchen is well stocked) and roasted marshmallows by the fire pit at night. Activities near the house included: Mackinac Island (house is walking distance to ferry docks), Tahquamenon Falls, Castle Rock, and shopping in Saint Ignance. Lots of family-friendly choices in the area. We recommend for a family trip!

Nice stay near Mackinac
The property is a very well maintained Victorian house, great for family get togethers. I will let others know, if you have family members that have issues with steps, this might be hard. The pnly way to get to the bedrooms is by a pretty narrow stairway. I gave 4 stars for communication because originally we were told there were bikes, but in reality they were not. Overall though everyone had a great time & we went over to the island and had an amazing day.

Beautiful Home
We had the best time vacationing at this home! Everything felt like luxury from the bedding/blankets to the bath towels. From the rugs to the kitchen! We had everything we needed to cook our dinners for our family. My parents enjoyed the back yard and watching all the different birds. We all also enjoyed the air hockey table! We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the UP!

Beautiful Well Appointed House Close to Town
We loved our stay at the beautiful Mackinac Manor. The house is lovely renovated historic home. It has been thoroughly updated but still has the historic charm. A close walk into town was a bonus. We walked to dinner, stores, and even walked to the ferry terminal to the Island. The game room was a huge bonus along with the fire pit and corn hole in the backyard. There was plenty of room for our group of 8 to sleep, eat and hang out. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely be back. St. Ignace is a wonderful up north town and not as busy as Mackinaw City.
