Disappointed in paying extra for 4 star hotel.
The front desk registration agent at the Drury Hotel was pleasant. I chose this hotel because I was not familiar with the area and I wanted to stay in a 4-5 star rated hotel. What a disappointment! The iron did not work and when I called the front desk, I was told that we couldn’t get a replacement iron until 7:00 am because housekeeping was closed. I had a 9:30am medical appointment and I had planned to be ahead by ironing my clothes that evening for the next day. Shortly after that, our toilet stopped up. My husband went to the front desk to get a plunger. He was able to unclog the toilet. The next morning, at 7:00 he went to get another iron for me. The iron did heat up but it also dripped water (actually poured out water) onto the pants that I was ironing. I emptied the remaining water so that I could use the iron. The free breakfast that we counted on to start our day was over by the time I was dressed (This is why I had planned to iron the evening before.). It was so disappointing to have paid extra for a star rating that was inaccurate. We will avoid that Drury Hotel whenever we travel. I would suggest that either housekeeping is available for late evening mishaps or the front desk personnel has extra irons just like there was a plunger available. My other suggestion is that, as a 4-5 star hotel, the guest should not have to unplug the toilet or have a second iron that doesn’t work. Before handing over the iron, it should have been checked to see if it worked properly.
