ACCESS:
Prior to your arrival, you’ll receive a unique access code for a seamless and secure self-check-in experience. You will have the entire cabin to yourself.

NEIGHBORHOOD:
Stanardsville and the Lydia Mountain area are at the transition from the Piedmont region of central VA into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. The cottage is at about 1000 feet elevation, so it's spared from the worst of winter cold, but still close enough to easily access waterfall hikes and Skyline Drive. Central VA is also well known for wine country, independent cattle farms, horse stables, and some of the best antique malls of the east coast.

GETTING AROUND
Navigating the nearby area is relatively straightforward. While the cabin's secluded location provides ultimate tranquility, you will find that most amenities and attractions are within a short drive. We recommend bringing or renting a car for the greatest flexibility. Nature's Edge is a gravel road with a fairly steep hill that is passable by small/medium cars in winter, but know your own limits, watch for ice, and drive safely. If you're not used to driving on narrow dirt or gravel roads, 4WD or all-wheel drive is encouraged.

RULES & ADDITIONAL INFO
» Follow driving instructions in our digital guide (GPS unreliable)
» We have regular pest treatment but bugs can still sometimes find their way into the cabin (let us know if this is a problem during your stay)
» Pets are allowed (subject to owner approval + pet fee)
» Black bears have been sighted in the area. Use caution.
» Always keep vehicles locked and don’t leave food outside
» Check for burn bans before using the firepit
» Smoking is allowed (outdoors only)
» No parties or events
» Maximum occupancy is 4
Absolutely no smoking of any kind allowed inside the cottage, nor burning of sage, incense or oils. There will be a cleaning fee for violating this policy.
We welcome two or fewer small or medium dogs (<50 lbs), no puppies. All pets must be housebroken, current on all vaccinations, and must never be left alone in the cottage. No dogs who mark/spray. No chewers. Any damage from the pet will be billed to the owner.

Short Vacation
Absolutely wonderful! A perfect, cozy home for two! We stayed for two nights and it was equipped with everything we needed & more. The games & hot tub are a nice bonus. On our first night here, there was a power outage and the host was fast and reassuring in letting me know when it would be fixed. Couldn't complain one bit! Perfect spot if looking to visit the national park or just staying in!

Great gateway from northern VA
The host was extremely accommodating; communication was clear and timely. Cute and clean cabin. Fire pit and hot tub were a nice addition, as getting to and from the main road does take sometime. The remoteness was welcomed.

Great Cabin
We enjoyed the cabin very much. Clean and nice layout. We had a bit of an issue with the check in access code which was frustrating after driving so far, but it did get resolved. Loved the seclusion of the cabin and the privacy. Definitely recommend.
