Perfect Getaway near State College with a beautiful view and A+ Winery
Couldn't have asked for better or more accommodating hosts, the cabin was immaculate with plenty of room for a friend's getaway. The View is stunning, overlooking the winery and mountains. A short walk to the winery for a tasting of some of the best wine we've ever had. The proximity to state college and all of its amenities was wonderful. Really enjoyed the stay, will be back!

Beautiful location
We were a family group of 11 including a newborn, toddler, two teens, and adults. The house has plenty of space to spread out especially when the weather is nice with the long deck overlooking the winery. The hosts were responsive and addressed a small issue quickly. Bathrooms were well stocked. Good water pressure except in the master bath shower. Kitchen had everything you could possibly want. All in all a great family trip.

We were in town for the Happy Valley IRONMAN 70.3. The whole family came along and this house was the perfect place for my wife and I, two kids, mother in law, sister in law and her two kids. We enjoyed the views, had plenty of room, and had everything we needed and more. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect in many ways
Our West Coast sons reunited with us for a week of wedding activities including a reception/dance at the Winery. The kitchen, with abundant storage space, was well enough equipped to enjoy many meals around the dining table overlooking the private outdoors. The quiet road past horses & vineyards and trails through the property were nice for a walk/run. Our deck looked across the lawn down to a pond and the winery inviting us to an afternoon flight of wine and short walk back. The two bathrooms with showers upstairs offered us options for privacy. Our sons seemed to find their favorite chair to relax for time alone or to enjoy a quiet conversation. The drive to the airport, Arboretum, and campus on the north side of town was easy and quick while the supermarkets and wine & spirit store on South Atherton were even more accessible. Linden Lodge was like a home and just perfect in many ways. Thank You Stephen and Linda

This house is a gem.
We had a fantastic stay at Linden Lodge and honestly can’t wait to stay again. If the surrounding view of the mountains, valley and the winery weren’t enough, the house is spacious, comfortable and it was well stocked with everything we needed. We also loved the wine and cheese on arrival, the nature trail in the back of the house, the deck with plenty of seating and space to eat and the basement with games and toys for the kids. The hosts were responsive and so friendly! Thanks again for an amazing weekend for our group!

This was the perfect place for our group of (10) 50-somethings for an annual reunion of old friends. The house, property, view, & location were best we could imagine. House is fully equipped, instructions/info was readily available. Loved the firepit with a view. Highly recommend!!

Little piece of heaven
This is the 2nd consecutive year we've stayed here. The memories we make here are life long for me and my 6 kids. The house is very cozy, the fireplace is lovey throughout the day. Me and the littles loved watching the birds from the back deck. Me and the girls loved waking up to the sunset every morning. This year is was cold enough that the vineyards pond froze so I taught my 14yr old daughter and my 5yr old daughter, 8yr old son how to ice skate. Watching them ice skate while sipping coffee on the deck was amazing. Kids and I took advantage of sledding down the many hills on the property. If you have kids, or are interested in yourself, I recommend going to Tussey Mountain Ski resort and checking out the Penns Caves tour, along with all the amazing trails. I cannot say enough about how great this property is and how lovely the owners are. Very responsive even on Christmas and new years. I look forward to our stay in 2023. Thank you Steve for opening your lovely home for our family.

Beautiful weekend to remember
This beautiful home, with its scenic views was perfect for our first stay at State College. We immediately felt at home, the cleanliness and spacious layout was more than perfect for us. I shared the rental information to several other families who have children attending PSU. My only fear is that when I want to rent again, I will not be able to, due to high demand for this perfect property. Thank you to the wonderful hosts!

Recent short stay
Setting of property very peaceful during day. Not for those who do not like wooded area. Bedrooms should have window coverings so sun does not wake everyone at 6:30am. Kitchen is lovely, as is the diningroom, tv area and sitting area next to it. Handful of window locks do not lock, but really should for night time security. Jacuzzi tub does not jet, but is a nice soaking tub. Do not recommend late night arrival. We drove up dark, narrow drive to a chain blocking the dark entrance. This was very confusing with no light of any sort other than two cars. After removing the chain, we drove up the narrow road and could not see our place because it was pitch black out and scary at 10pm. Had it been dinner time, we would have seen the vineyard to the left. Daytime views are beautiful. Cute coffee shop nearbye. Winery hours did not work for us. Event one time and closed until 11am another. We tried buying moscato and reisling, but could not. Fees are excessive, but the entire PSU area acts like a tourist trap. The lower level is musty and one bed will only accommodate a short person. Rooms, however, we’re meticulous and every bed sheets were extremely clean!!! All 3 bathrooms beautiful and updated to our liking. Something you don’t always get. Cleanliness was top notch! Only downside was 11% tax charged, excessive fee, excessive cleaning fee. Fees should be based on size of gathering. There should be someone available after hours (9-11pm). Very respectful owner and mgr. had total privacy.

Wonderful 2 weeks at lovely home
Linden Lodge isn't like a lot of those bare-bones rental houses - adequate but kind of sterile. It's more like you're staying in a good friend's home. It's beautifully decorated and well-outfitted. Not to mention it has a great location on the grounds of the Mt. Nittany Winery with beautiful views of the vineyards and mountains. Very peaceful. The owners were great to deal with and accommodating to requests. We've stayed in many rental houses and would name this one of our all-time favorites. We spent 2 weeks there escaping the July heat of Philadelphia. The house has a good location 10 minutes from State College, so there's lots to do - great restaurants, lots of wineries and brew pubs, and of course PSU to see. We drove to a great farmers' market in Lewisburg and enjoyed a lovely, bucolic drive past farms and a state forest. (There are many state parks nearby, with lakes and hiking trails, but we didn't visit them.) We did learn SC is known for hand-made ice cream, a legacy of it's many dairy farms. So we had many trips to ice cream places. Yum! Our 2 weeks was even more enjoyable than we had expected. We were glad we chose this area and Linden Lodge over other more well-known, and much busier, summer vacation areas we considered.

Nice and peaceful location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a group ranging from 23 through 78 and the accommodations were perfect for all. The property owner was very responsive and we enjoyed a nice surprise of wine, cheese, sausage and crackers from the winery upon arrival. The deck was the perfect spot for an afternoon snooze or an early evening glass of wine.

Fabulous Find!
Beautiful property overlooking the vineyard! The drive up to the house brings you along a horse barn, cows grazing, and deer strolling through the meadow. The house is big and gave us plenty of space to gather. My favorite part was the beautiful back deck overlooking the vineyard! A nice bottle of wine and salami and crackers awaited us upon arrival! Very nice touch! Thanks to Steve for making our son's (finally) 2020 Graduation a successful one!
