Perfect spot to rest and recover from work life!
The owner is absolutely fantastic! Property is an oasis in the woods! Stunning creek, fantastic fire pit island in a pond and then the cabin! The cabin is beautiful, accommodating and makes you feel like you are miles and miles into the woods! This is our Dad friend get away and it’s perfect!

I rented the cabin to take my 17 year old son and 3 friends on a ski trip. The location is great and the loft is outstanding for a group like this. Douglas was also very responsive with questions. Can’t wait to bring the whole fam!!

Beautiful cabin in the woods
My husband and I chose this cabin to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The hand built cabin did not disappoint. Beautiful location right on a pond loaded with sunfish with a flowing stream at the rear of the property. Location is near anything you would want to do in the area. Great communication with the owner Doug made us feel right at home. Hope to return one day.

The beds were very comfortable as well as the linens, towels, etc. However, there were no blankets except for 2 throws (all I could find). It really was a better choice for the family, but for anyone who may have difficulty with stairs, all the steps are higher than average and there is no handrail going up to the loft for smaller hands. Also the steps have started to pull away from the risers. Unfortunately 3 of the 4 days we were there it rained, and with no cable and only sketchy Wi-Fi it was less than ideal. The quiet and the singing frogs made it very pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised to find that dish soap, paper towels, napkins, and salt and pepper were provided.

This cabin was everything we hoped of and more. Secluded and private while also being super close to hiking trails and devils backbone brewery. Farm fresh eggs were a huge plus as well!

Great fall weekend getaway for the family
We stayed over the weekend for 2 nights and our family of 4 had a great time. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and our kids loved all the activities available on the property. We fished, hung out at the fire pit, fed the cute pigs on the property, and enjoyed cozy fires in the wood burning stove each night. The owner Doug was great communicating with us with any questions we had and we really enjoyed our stay.

Great cabin, clean, cozy, perfect for my family of four. The cabin pictures provided in the listing are precisely what you will get. Less than 10 minutes to Sherando Lake. Very close to Waynesboro, Staunton, Crabtree Falls, Wintergreen, Blue ridge parkway ... Recommended stay if you're looking in the area.

Our stay at the cabin was quiet and very relaxing. The property is beautiful and the scenery amazing. The cabin was very homey and comfortable. A little bit of a drive to where ever you wished to visit, but the quietness and comfort was very well worth it.

Lovely hideaway
Stayed here for a long weekend. The weather was not great, but there was enough to do in the area to keep us occupied even when raining. Hosts were lovely and very responsive on email and text. The cabin is lovely and clearly well loved by the owners with many personal touches. Well equipped kitchen, good tv and games etc available. Only complaint would be the lack of good lighting in the living and dining spaces. All beds are in the same open space; there are 3 beds, 2 with trundle options also. Friendly pigs were a great bonus and chickens in the grounds. The pond outside is great for kids with so many bluegill and pumpkinseed (size 10 hook, corn and bobber is all you need!). The stream running through the property is lovely, but small and not really a rout stream. Outdoor plug so good for EVs. Great spot for a getaway.

This was the perfect cabin. Location was beautiful. Cabin was PERFECTLY outfitted. Kitchen had everything we needed. The pond was full of wildlife, and the sound of the creek soothed our souls. Can't wait to go back!

Our 2nd stay...
This was the second stay for my husband and me at the Lyndhurst cabin. We love the serenity it offers. We have family who live in the area and visited for the day. The kids had a blast exploring the property-- looking for tad pools, picking up sticks, checking out the creek, etc! We will return again :)

Great little Cabin on a Stream
This was exactly what I was looking for, I wanted the complete cabin feel tucked back away at the bottom of a mountain on a stream. Owner very accommodating with wood for the fire pit and the indoor wood stove. Never even used electric heat. Open the rear windows and all you hear is the stream out back which is peaceful and relaxing. Took my son to local caverns and outright relaxed. Doug gave us a dozen fresh eggs which were delicious. Will definitely go back sometime in the future.
