You wont find a better apartment in Portpatrick nor more friendly owners. Booking through Owners direct though is a nightmare....We booked and the owners confirmed our booking, and stated they did not want a deposit until we arrived. Owners direct issued us an ultimatum however, Either we paid £100 or we would lose the booking. We contacted the owner, who confirmed she had the accommodation was reserved, and did not want a deposit. We contacted Owners Direct with this info. They said they would reply within three days, but again said if I did not pay £100 by the following morning, I would lose the booking. I paid, under duress. As holiday time approached Owners Direct contacted me to say I had paid my £48 booking fee, plus £100 deposit, the balance being due on arrival. On arrival the owners knew nothing about me having paid £100, and asked if it had been taken from my account. I could not confirm that there and then, so they very kindly said pay nothing more till you get home to check your account. When I got home, I checked my Owners Direct account which confirmed I had paid £100 deposit, but when I checked my bank account, they had not taken the sum asked for. Owners Direct are a pain in the neck, and I would never book through them again. The owners of this apartment are very fine people, and the apartment is first class, we will return there, but NOT via Owners Direct!
