Not 5 Star quality!!!
I think that Nikko Corporate HQ needs to encourage this hotel to be more accommodating to guests! When I made the reservation on Hotels.com, I had written a special request to have hypoallergenic bedding since I am allergic to down. I received a message back that they had a pillow for me but none of their bedding was feather-free. I can’t believe that they can’t figure this out! After all, Suzhou is famous for its gorgeous silk filled quilts! Their Lounge Bar also needs to have a better selection and understand how wines should be served. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we tried to order a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate. They were out of most of the wines on their wine list and finally brought over a warm bottle of a much more expensive bottle of champagne. Finally, their buffet breakfast was nothing special at all and the staff started cleaning it up at 10 am on New Year’s Day! I had only come down at 9:30 as I hadn’t realized that they would close it so early in a national holiday. For a 5 Star hotel, this hotel was very disappointing!
