Pioneer Cabin (Sunrise) A self-catering camping cabin & farm stay experience

Get ready to escape the everyday chaos and take a breather at Hidden Valley Farm! Nestled 740 meters above sea level, this sanctuary offers awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Abel Tasman National Park, the sea, and the mountain ranges, as well as the twinkling night lights of Motueka and Nelson.

Sunrise Cabin is perfect for a couple or two people sharing, featuring adjacent camp kitchens and shared outdoor facilities, including a gas shower and a flush toilet. If you're with a larger group, feel free to bring tents or use our camper parking area. (POA)

Conveniently located between Motueka and Takaka Township, Hidden Valley Farm is the perfect starting point for exploring nearby attractions such as Kaiteriteri golden beaches, Harwood Hole, Ngarua Caves, art studios, and historic sites. Whether you're interested in a two-day break or a longer holiday package stay, we encourage you to make the most of your experience in this popular tourist location.
At our farm sanctuary, you can unwind amidst characterful farm animals and wildlife or participate in various on and off-farm activities. Our accommodation offers a minimal-tech, off-grid experience, so don't forget to pack your boots and guitar! Your options include exploring the 380-acre grounds, joining animal management workshops, or simply enjoying the serene environment at your own pace.

For safety reasons, please be aware of natural hazards on the farm. Remember, children and pets must be supervised at all times, by a responsible adult.

Also, the water supply to the property is from one of our mountain streams. As such we cannot guarantee this water for drinking. It is beautiful water and fine for showering, washing up etc but we suggest bringing bottled water for drinking. We do provide three litres per day of bottled water.

If you are looking for somewhere to watch the TV, play video games, use any electronics for entertainment, this is defineatly not for you. However, if you want to get away from it all and have a few days of rest and relaxation, listen to the sounds of nature and watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets, you are perfect for this holiday.

With full access to our superb open moorland, huge tracts of native bush, streams and farm animals there is plenty to do.

Hidden Valley Farm is an ideal retreat for couples or families with older children or small groups seeking peace and relaxation. There are board games and books available for entertainment. While meals are self-catering, you can spice things up by booking our "Settlers Campfire" event during your stay.
Pets & horses can join their family on request (Conditions apply)

We're thrilled about the opportunity to welcome you to Hidden Valley Farm and ensure you have an amazingly authentic adventure!

Beautiful location and views in a rustic cabin
A rustic farm experience in a lovely cabin. Amazing sea and bush views and incredible star gazing. The farm is an animal sanctuary with horses, ducks, geese, chicken, sheep, cattle, pigs and peacocks which really added to the countryside experience. This is a rustic experience similar to glamping so if you're after the 5 star experience this is not for you. If it's a farm experience, excellent star gazing and friendly animals then this is the place! Terri and Jim were excellent hosts always checking in (while respecting our privacy) to see if we needed anything.
