The cottage is located in the middle of beautiful Tasman, near stunning Kina beach. It is modern and has a very restful 'zen' feel to it.
We welcome pets, children and infants.
The space
The cottage has everything you would need for your stay - a nice and private outdoor area, comfortable beds , a bathroom and a separate laundry with a dryer, spacious kitchen and a generously-sized deck with beautiful views of white lilies and the grapefruit trees. There is also a small living area and an indoor dining space.
As the weather is almost always sunny and balmy here, you may feel like dining out on the deck and enjoying beautiful views of white lilies and grapefruit trees. There is also a secure space next to the dwelling to park your bikes should you bring them with you.
Tasman is well known as 'bikers paradise' with a myriad of bike rides and easy access to more challenging bike parks. The Great Taste Bike Trail passes immediately opposite the property, so you can hop on it straight away. This is a 'bike in - bike out' accommodation option. The Spooners Tunnel, part of the trail, is also close. This is the longest decommissioned rail tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere.
Other fun activities could include exploring Rawhiti Caves in Golden Bay, salmon fishing and visiting freshwater springs near Takaka, having a go at archery (with personalised tuition) in Marahau (near the entrance to Abel Tasman). You can try tandem paragliding with qualified instructors - the region is fantastic for it, with views over 3 national parks.
The cottage is located about 30 min drive from Nelson, 5-7 min from Mapua, 10 min from Motueka. There are 4 supermarkets or grocery stores within 10-20 min drive. Tasman general store (3 min walk) stores some basic supplies - you can also get good coffee and baking from there.
Guest access
There is a shared driveway with the house where I live with my 12 year old daughter, and you will drive past our house when you arrive. You will have your own parking near the cottage. Although our house is not far at all from the cottage, the cottage is positioned so that you can enjoy your privacy. You may see us occasionally pottering around on our side.
Other things to note
We welcome all pets, including more than one. If you wish to bring pets, please tell us more about them when you book. Please provide your own bedding and blankets. We provide feeding and drinking bowls.
